Rebecca VA
Not long ago I had "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me, Lucille" playing in my head. Now *that* is a song that's hard to get rid of!

AK_Mom4
DS17 got me yesterday by walking around singing "I love Rock n Roll. Put another dime in the jukebox, baby!" DD11 asked what a jukebox was. Sigh...

I talk to the trees
:D A few weeks ago, dh and I burst into "Gloom, despair, and agony on me..." (complete with moans.) Dd looked kind of like this: . We had to do a quick "Hee-Haw" cultural appreciation lesson.

Alte Veste Academy
Love it! Reminds me of watching with my Grandpa in the good ol' days. I sometimes text or e-mail that to DH if it's been too long since I've heard from him.
mom2att
You know, I have so many songs like this taking up space in my brain that it's no wonder I can't remember normal, everyday, helpful things. It would be nice to be able to delete the "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille" file and replace it with, oh I don't know, the Latin vocabulary I am attempting to learn with my children. But alas--I was definitely singing along when I saw the title of this thread.
Luanne
My daughter even knows this song. LOL :D
Susan in TN
My dad used to sing this all the time - and then my mom would glare at him and tell him to stop being a bad influence on the kids :D . We didn't watch much TV so I only saw it once or twice.

KnitWit
Wow! This brought back a flood of memories of me and my grandfather. Just reading those words, I can smell his pipe. :)
pdalley
It reminded me of my Daddy's parents. It was their favorite show and one of the few times they demanded absolute quiet in the house. My Grandpa could pick a banjo himself quite well and usually got inspired watching. Love the memories.
Remudamom
When I'd visit my grandparents we'd watch this too. Grandpa preferred Lawrence Welk, same time, different channel but we watched Hee Haw anyway.
pdalley
When I'd visit my grandparents we'd watch this too. Grandpa preferred Lawrence Welk, same time, different channel but we watched Hee Haw anyway. Lawrence Welk was the other side of my family. Whatever I got to see depended on which grandparents I was staying with at the time. :) Now 'Goodnight, sleep tight.... And pleasant dreams to you...' is stuck in my head. Chelli
Love, love, love Hee Haw! My girls love it too because dh and I just couldn't raise kids who were culturally illiterate about Hee Haw. :tongue_smilie: We found episodes on YouTube, but want to buy them at some point. It was one of my family's favorite TV shows growing up. Does anyone remember Puttin' on the Hits (a lip sync contest show) or The Mandrell Sisters (Miss Mandrell! Miss Mandrell!)? Those were two of my family's favorites as well.
Ellie
I loved it when someone would go to Archie Campbell (as the doctor), and say, "Doc, it hurts when I do this," and he'd pull out a rubber chicken, whack the patient with it, and say, "Well, don't do that!" :smilielol5: And then there were his stories: Rindercella, the Pee Little Thrigs, and Loldiegocks and the Bree Thairs. Word Nerd
When I was a kid, the first grade classes would put on a play or musical performance for the parents and some other students. Our group did a Hee Haw show. I sang as one of the gossip ladies and got bumped with a (cardboard) fence board after telling a corny joke.
