Chick flicks for younger chicks?

Recommended Posts

dd13's favourite movies are the Twilight series, Transformers 1&2, GI Joe, all of the "Buddies" movies (the little golden retriever pups - there's several movies), the Narnia movies, Harry Potter however-many-there-were and *The Neverending Story.

*writing this just stuck

in my head.

Top favs? Homeward Bound & Enchanted. :) We are fans. lol

My dds *love* A League of Their Own with Tom Hanks.

It has scenes some might not care for, so preview it.

Matilda is another fav here, as are the Eloise movies with Julie Andrews.

Nanny McPhee, First Knight, The Princess Bride, October Sky , and Billy Elliot are other favs.

Again, preview them.

Everything everyone else said - and my kids loved Tuck Everlasting.

Also, IQ with Meg Ryan and Tim Robbins. Short Circuit, Treasure Planet (my kids ask for that one over and over again), The Last Mimzy, Nim's Island, Flubber, Parent Trap (old and new -- I love to just stare at Natasha Richardson in the new one - omh, she is so gorgeous), Cheaper by the Dozen 1 and 2, the original Father of the Bride with SPencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor.

I LOVe old movies so I try to sit and watch with the kids if one comes our way that I particularly love : Bringing up Baby with Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn; Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck; alot of Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn (Desk Set).

I like old movies too. My mom and sister and I loved to watch the Doris Day movies and anything with Cary Grant. Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee did a couple of cute movies together too.

One of our favorites at that age (besides Anne of Green Gables of course and others that have been mentioned) was The Man from Snowy River.

A few I haven't seen on the thread yet:

Dreamer

Mandy and the Secret Tunnel

The Adventures of Ociee Nash

Moondance Alexander

Sarah Plain and Tall trilogy

Sound of Music

Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken

The Inheritance

Road to Avonlea series, technically an old series, but Netflix has them. They are must if you love Anne of Green Gables movies...

Letters to Juliet was great!

Also, there is a remake of Ice Castles now. It wasn't as good as the first one, but my girls liked it.

Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken

That was one of my faves when I was a girl!

How about any of these:

The Man in the Moon (Reese Witherspoon)

Leap Year (Amy Adams)

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Inkheart (Brendan Fraser)

The Last Song (not really a Miley fan, but I liked this movie)

... all of the others that came to mind have been mentioned a few times. :)
