DawnM
I am pretty sure I have it all planned out. Tess in the Burbs
For the most part I have everything bought and all subjects are covered ;-) Reality when it comes may prove me otherwise, lol!!! We are doing SL Core 2 for history, putting together our own chemistry and physics for the year by reading and doing experiments(this is not planned yet!), Latina Christiana, Memoria Press copywork, Rod & Staff grammer(grade 2), and math is going to be a combo of Horizons and Miquon. We kinda stopped doing piano but I would like to do another year of it....and art. well art has been ignored for 2 years, so why start now? kidding, lol. kinda. For Science, History & Bible we are using Heart of Dakota (Little Hearts for His Glory). My boy's will do the Singapore Earlybird math since CLE does not offer a K math. My daughter will do CLE 1st grade math. I will continue phonics instruction with Phonics Pathways. I'm not sure if my daughter will place somewhere in CLE Learning To Read, or if she will go into the language arts program. Lot's of field trips and adventure time, read alouds & playing. angela&4boys
I'm confident we'll be using Bigger Hearts from Heart of Dakota with our 9yo ds. However, I'm still deciding for our (almost) 12yo ds. We will likely use the left side of Bigger (Bible, devotional, history, and geography) and beef it up with an additional U.S. history text and literature. I'm still trying to decide about language arts and science for him, but I'm leaning towards the right side of HOD's new program... Hearts for Him: Creation to Christ which includes grammar, writing, dictation, poetry, and science and I know I'm forgetting a subject or two. I love how she incorporates the CM and traditional approaches and especially appreciate her book choices. I'm over planning it all on my own and I feel HOD has been a literal answer to prayer. Our 2yo ds is just too active and needs some mommy time. I'm close to a decision and will be excited to be done with it! :D Edited April 20, 2009 by angela&4boys

Orthodox6
All subjects and curricula have been chosen. Daily lesson plans to be completed by end of July, with classes to recommence on August 1st. Only one student (amazing after fourteen years !): Grade 5 dd math: Teaching Textbooks language arts: LLATL-Purple, VocabuLit, gap-filling from FLL4 and WWE, Spelling Workout literature: Ok, still floundering. DD wants to continue with Calvert's "Little House" guides -- which she studies independently, just to soak up all the information along with the books. Of course she will read more than just this ! I also plan to skip the book studies in LLATL. history: "round one" of 4-year cycle = "ancients" Basic books to include: Kingfisher History ("white"), Greenleaf guides for Egypt, Greece, Rome. Multiple supplemental books, to be chosen as we go along. geography: Continue basic grounding in general skills and general knowledge, using materials already on hand. Continue to include geography with daily reading of lives of the saints. Continue to integrate geography with history. religion: Continue basics of Orthodox Christianity. Include an Orthodox children's overview of the New Testament. Spanish: Calvert, year one course. art history: Calvert, year one course. Taught to dd and her best friend. history of science, ancient times: Based on individual books (from the same series) about science in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Mesopotamia, and China. Taught to dd and her best friend. science: RS4K biology, level one. When that course runs out, will add additional study material (tba). Taught to dd and her best friend. music instruction: shifting over to violin from piano. One day per week, I'll be teaching the three subjects listed to my friend's dd, along with mine. There are no co-op classes we can enter, so this is the best I can come up with ! I think that's everything.
