  1. Try directtextbook.com for books or curriculum books.
  2. Does anyone know where I can get a Bible like this without paying a fortune? My daughter is interested in learning German so I thought having a Bible in German would help. I found some for around $55 dollars and up. Tammi
  3. Do kids taking pre-algebra really need to know about "Bases"? I am using BJU Pre-Algebra and they cover it in the 4th Chapter. I just can't see a need for it. Maybe they need it in Algebra II or Precalculus, but do they need to know it in 8th grade. If I taught it I am pretty sure they will forget it by the time they really need it. Tammi
  4. I didn't buy it after Christmas but I did buy just before Christmas for my son. I found it at a thrift store for $75. I went on-line to check if I made a good deal and found ones just like it for +1,000 dollars. It is in excellent shape. I call that a very good deal!:001_smile:
  5. I love it, especially when it isn't rock hard. My husband's father made it to cut with a hacksaw.
  6. It's not airborne. It is in the soil. A person can transmit it to another place just by walking in the grass where the pup had his business. It can live in the soil for 4 to 5 years. A couple of years ago we got a 4 month yellow lab. On the way home we thought he was car sick because he was throwing up. Later that day, the previous owners called and said that another pup from the same litter was diathe pup's littermate was diagnoised with parvo. That weekend he started going downhill. Took him to a vet. It cost us $400 for a weekend in the vet hospital. They had to inject fluid just under the skin so he wouldn't get dehydrated. The vet said that is basically what they die of. We ended up with a another pup weeks after. He ended up with one shot before he came home with us. He never got parvo. (The vet said there was still a chance of getting it because the pup had only one shot before he came to our house.)
  7. I know they are strong in music but my daughter is looking into Psychiatry and English. I am hoping others will remark about the other majors they offer. Tammi
  8. My daughter has decided that Belmont will be her first choice. What are your feebacks on Belmont? How are Belmont students regarded in Nashville? What is the college like? We are conservative Christians but my daughter isn't necessarily looking for that type of college.
  9. The only ones I remember is the 6th grade teachers at Fort Stewart Elementary School. My teacher's name was Mrs. Floyd and the other 6th grade teacher was Mr. Golden. Mrs. Floyd paddled me with a ruler and Mr. Golden had a home made paddle in the front of the class with holes in it. I think I don't remember my other teachers is because I went to 8 different schools from K - 12 in 5 states and 2 countries.
  10. Just sent you a PM. We live in Dayton and my husband and I both graduated from Bryan.
  11. My daughter is thinking about attending Stephens College and I was hoping to hear about the reputation of the college from the town's folks. Tammi
  12. My daughter just returned from visiting Stephen College and I would like some input from another parent or student who has gone there or heard from someone that's been there. She really likes it but I guess I am kind of leary about sending her to a totally secular college. She is easily influenced by others (she has even admitted to it just the other day). I know I just have to pray that the Lord will lead her to the college that he wants her to attend. I know it may not be the one that I choose. I also know I have to let her go. It has been a long 6 years with her struggling with anger and such. I also know that she will make a decision even if she doesn't follow Him or His choice.
  13. I use the bags I bought from Sam's Club. They come in packs of 2. I bought 2 packs of 2. I use them whenever I go shopping. They are very big and they hold alot. Their freezer bag is also very big. You can carry them either by the handle or use the shoulder strap. I like it because I don't have to carry alot of little bags. They hold up to alot of abuse.
  14. Like some of the previous responses, I would highly reccommend an insulin pump. I would suggest looking into the different pumps. Do not just pick one and go with that one. I have used Medtronic and like that company very well. They work with you if the pump is having problems and all. I am now using Animas because it was cheaper and a refurbished one. (I do not have insurance.) Both companies are excelllent. Tammi
  15. writeathome.com has one. It is called "pay per paper" program. I have used their traditional writing program and I like it. Tammi
