  1. Thanks for your responses. I have questioned myself so much in using it but when my daughter did her CAT most of her LA scores were in the 13.? I was amazed! My oldest son has had some on going medical needs for the last 4 yrs with multiple surgeries and hospitalizations, and my husband had two surgeries this year. Plus I had to take my daughter to Mayo in Nov. By Christmas I was so glad I had made this change for them as most other years by Christmas I was ready to throw up my hands and quit.
  2. Hi, It has been a long time since I have posted. I homeschool my two youngest, now aged 13 and 14. A year ago Jan. I started using some ACE(Accelerated Christian Education) with my two and by last Jan I had them totally in it except for Math. I have to say, I fought against this type of school for so many years but do to multiple health issues within my family I felt to give it a try. WE ARE LOVING IT! Just wondering if anyone else is a fan.
  3. WOW! It has been a while since I have been here and things have really changed. I went to post a bunch of books I have for sale and got a message that I would need to make a post first? I have made several, just not for a while. Hope this will get me through. LOL Blessings, Sandy
  4. Thanks, Cat. I had never noticed this before.
  5. I have been having a PM conversation with a person here and when I went to check it today to see if she had responded further there is a bold red BLOCK after her user name to the side. Why? Is this someone I don't want to be selling product to?
  6. I have been looking at this for some time and I am to where I am strongly considering purchasing it. Has anyone successfully used it with dyslexic(mild to moderate) children? Would you be willing to share your experience with it both good and bad? Blessings, Sandy
  7. Well, if I give info you have already gotten please forgive me. I don't have the time to read them all. Cleaning, I mainly use Bio Kleen products, white vinegar, H2O2, and baking soda. For laundry I use Country Save for the detergent, adding in 1/2 cup Baking soda and granulated H2O2 by Bio Kleen. Deodorant I mix organic coconut oil with non aluminum baking soda, and I use H2O2 for mouthwash and brushing my teeth. When you start it really is a chance of way of thinking. I haven't had bleach or any other harsh cleaner in my home now for well over 10 yrs. You can do it and it is much less expensive.
  8. I totally agree with this. If you wait for the feelings to line up......well, that may never happen. There have been times when I write it down. [ I forgive......... for .........] and keep it where I can get quick access if I need it. Most of the time I find that when I go through the actions of forgiving the feelings come quicker. One of the other things that I have learned is that just because you have forgiven someone does not mean you are obligated to put yourself in the same situation with that person. Example: A young woman who has been abused by her father, uncle etc. Just because she has forgiven that person of the things they did to her does not mean she is obliged to allow them to come to her apartment when she is along. I have learned that the faster I forgive the faster I begin to heal. The faster I forgive, the faster I can start moving ahead in life. I pray that you will be able to find the answers you need for you.
  9. That is interesting. Most complains on the double drawer is they don't hold as much nor big pots and pans. Do you do your cooking utensils in it?
  10. Hmmm, This is the longest we have had one. I use Ecover Dish tabs and really like them. Don't think I have ever used Amway dishwasher soap. Is it a fragrance free product?
  11. We love our labradoodles. They are such personable characters! Our blond was sitting in front of the tv a couple of mornings ago, starring at the screne, waiting for for someone to turn a dog show on. He love to watch! We also have a Bichpoo. He is a total love. Much smaller than the golden or labradoodle though. I would be sure to find out all you can on how the dog was treated before it came into the shelter. We have an Australian Shep. that was a rescue, from what we have put together since was probably a puppy mill momma. She is a sweet dog but is so very scared of small children. We have had her now 6 yrs and she still goes and hides when someone under that age of 3-4 come in our home. She has never been cross with them but avoids them at all cost. It took her a good year before she was really comfortable with our two youngest, at that time 6 and 7. We also at one time had a schnauzer that we think had been abused by the little boy in the home it came from. That dog HATED boys all the way from new born through 10-12 yrs old. A baby girl could be in our home and it loved her, a baby boy be brought in and the dog stood with its hair standing up on the back of its neck and would intermittently growl at the child. Weard!
  12. I hear about people that have dishwashers that are 8-10 years old and STILL working. Well, it has NEVER happened for me. It seems like no matter how much I spend my dishwasher starts to die at about 4 yrs and like now at almost 6 years old even my dh is voting we get a new one with some of our tax refund. I am at such a quandry as to what brand and model to get though. We have a Whirlpool for the last 3 and they are ok but this last one, if we hadn't gotten the extended warranty, it would have cost us a lot to keep up. At the time it was pretty much at the top of the line. I want one that is quiet, washes the dishes without me having to wash the dishes first and that doesn't run our power bill through the roof. We are a family of 5 but I cook pretty much everything from scratch so it is normally run twice a day and sometimes 3 times. I would like to know what kind you have, how long you have had it, what you like and don't like about it, and how much it cost. I have between $700-1000 budgeted for this. Wouldn't mind if it was less than the $700 though. Blessings,
  13. I voted other as my son, especially has struggled with reading/writing. I put reading and math first on the agenda and we go from there.
  14. Thanks, I will move my fs over to there.
