Halcyon
After the kids go to bed i am going to try and watch something, although i've been going to bed at 830 every night so who knows. I have streaming Netflix, Amazon and Hulu and would love a funny, light movie, maybe a romcom? Any suggestions?

Guest
One of my favorites is Mrs. Doubtfire, although the divorce part is distinctly sad. For really light, silly humor, The Princess Bride. Every time I watch that, I wonder why it's so funny, but I can't help but chant, "My name is Inigo Montoya..."
Heidi
I thought Crazy, Stupid Love was really funny.

elegantlion
I remember the 2008 Get Smart movie really made me laugh. The Other Guys with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell is hilarious, but it can be very crude in parts, avoid if that's not your thing. RED, another funny movie, action oriented and totally silly in places. The Switch with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, sweet, read the premise to see if it fits your description Amelie is finally on Netflix. French, with subtitles. creekland
Do you like Claymation? If so, Chicken Run was hilarious. We watched it in a theater full of adults... all of whom seemed to have a great time. Then we bought a copy to keep... oh wait, we bought a copy for the kids - yeah - that's why... Joyofsixreboot
Meet the Parent or We're the Millers. Not strictly a comedy but Romancing the Stone is my feel better movie.

Jen in NY
The funniest new thing my kids have introduced me to lately is not a movie but a British radio program(me) called Cabin Pressure... absolutely laugh out loud funny. Seriously.... and I don't usually laugh at anything!

SunnyDays
Bridget Jones' Diary. She has a lot of rough situations, like having to choose between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth! ;) This may not be up your alley, but it's a cult favorite: Clue, the movie. Old 80s flick with several terrific actors. I love the one liners.

itsheresomewhere
When you need just a few minutes of something to make you laugh/smile, youtube Ellen or Whose Line is it Anyway. Ellen's little clips especially when she goes through her audience's facebook pictures are hysterical. Whose line will have you laughing especially the Richard SImmons ones or scenes from a hat. Alexigail
Seconding Miranda. You can watch it on Hulu. Someone suggested this on here and it really made me laugh. It's very silly British humor and very sweet.

fraidycat
I wanted to make another laugh out loud suggestion that is not a movie, or even a show. Damnyouautocorrect.com And if you haven't checked it out yet, it's been posted here a couple times in the past couple weeks - search the Haribo sugar free gummy bears on Amazon. Read the reviews - I laughed until I could barely breathe. I hope you're feeling better soon.
JessReplanted
The last really funny movie I saw (it seems like there are not many these days) was The Heat with Sandra Bullock. Chris in VA
OMG, that and cakewrecks are my favorite joke/funny sites. DYAC can get a little crude, but what's amazing is how crude the Autocorrect function is! I mean, who programmed it, a 12yo boy?
J-rap
I watched Barefoot in the Park recently, and it did make me laugh. When I want to be guaranteed a laugh, however, I usually watch one of the old sitcoms: Dick Van Dyke, or I Love Lucy. Sometimes Get Smart. A newer sitcom, Monk, usually makes me laugh too. Halcyon
Agreed. Crude and funny. i think i might watch this. Julie Smith
It is not a movie but a tv show that only lasted a short time is almost the same thing, isn't it? Pushing daises. A pie maker can bring people back from the dead with a touch.... Just google a trailer. It is really funny and about the only tv show I have ever bought. I was sooooo m*therf***ing wrong. LOL This made me LOL. In The Heat, the Melissa McCarthy (is that her name? LOL) character could have been based on my sister and the way she overreacts to stuff. I think that made it extra funny to me.
