Juniper
Dh and I have discovered a cheap wine at World Market that we really like called rene barbier Mediterranean red and their white. http://www.renebarbier.com/ Hmmmmmmm....dreamy. We pay 4.99 when it is not on sale. Be forewarned it is not a sweet wine! Robust and full. ;) Anyhow, anyone else have a cheap favorite? momofkhm
If I'm looking for cheap, I go to Trader's Joe's and get the "2 buck Chuck". But I think it's $3 now.
theYoungerMrsWarde
I love Arbor Mist, but I like my wine sweet.
Desert Rat
Right now I'm drinking Xplorador. It's a cab/merlot blend from Costco. I buy the big bottles so I don't look like an alcoholic on recycling day. I only have one (rather generous) glass of wine a night. Really! GWOB
I consider wine "cheap" if a bottle is under $10. My favorites are Bare Foot' Moscato, Chateau St. Michel Riesling, and Pinot Evil Pinot Noir.
Dolphin
We like Frontiera, it is a red in a 4 pack from Costco. It is what we call our table wine. If we are feeling a little more luxurious we do Red Velvet from the cupcake vineyards (I think it is $6.99 from costco or cost plus) Our splurge favorite wine that we can get here in the states is Willamette Valley vineyards Pinot noir. It is $14.99 at Costco ($25 elsewhere)
milovany
Barefoot Moscato Was coming to post this one. I have a hard time liking wine, but I had one whole glass of this one a couple of weeks ago. I can usually only manage 2-3 sips.
violamama
Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon is seriously cheap and completely drinkable. We like Menage a Trois (horrible name, makes it kinda hard to give as a gift), Cupcake reds, and for more expensive splurges anything from Willamette Vineyards (within walking distance of my boys' farm a.k.a. Gramma's house!). Another splurge: Horse Heaven Hills is a great vineyard.

I can usually only manage 2-3 sips. My inner wine snob avoided Bare Foot wines for the longest time. One day I broke down and purchased this wine. Slightly bubbly, kinda sweet, and just downright lovely. I really like this wine, though one must me in the mood for a white wine to enjoy it. I tend to drink wine in the summer, though, so it's perfect then. I also discovered Mad Housewife sweet white this summer (because I love the label), which is like a Moscato. I can't speak to their other varieties, though.
CupOCoffee
I too consider cheap to be anything under $10; we actually have a local winery that we LOVE their wines. The ones we like are $10 regular price, but we just stocked up on cyber Monday for like $6.99 a bottle. One of their specialties at this time of year a Sugarplum. They make a white that is also deliciously sweet -- but I like sweet wine. ~coffee~
Desert Rat
Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon is seriously cheap and completely drinkable. We like Menage a Trois (horrible name, makes it kinda hard to give as a gift), Menage is actually my favorite wine. I think the name fits because it's a 3 wine blend. I give it as gifts. I wonder what they think of me?! I understood the double meaning but never paused for thought. Good thing I've only given it to good friends!
Serenade
Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon is seriously cheap and completely drinkable. We like the Rex Goliath wines here, too. DH and I have a challenge going to find the best wines for the lowest prices. Our biggest problem is that we buy some, and then maybe it takes a while to get around to drinking them, and when we discover one we really like, we forget where we bought it! :smilielol5: My good deal last week was a Clos du Bois Chardonnay and Rouge for $6.99. jennynd
This is not a well known name, a little winery in MI called Tabor Hill. Their wine was served in white house and the cheap one was 4.99.

MrsMommy
I generally like Yellow Tail wines. Their chardonnay is pretty much the only white wine I'll drink...in general, I stick with reds.
sassenach
Cupcake Cab and Apothic White Winemakers blend are my 2 favorites. I used to like Yellowtail merlot, but it gives me a headache now.
Jen in PA
Lately I've been liking Yellow Tail Sauvignon Blanc.
whitestavern
We are box wine converts :) Wouldn't serve to company, but for everyday, it's just fine. Our fav is the Bota Box Malbec. Also agree w/PP on the Rex Goliath. We like their Chardonnay too. The big bottles are a good deal.

Slightly bubbly, kinda sweet, and just downright lovely. I really like this wine, though one must me in the mood for a white wine to enjoy it. Which moscato? I deigned to visit a Safeway only to be presented with a choice of pink and spumante. I picked up the latter to try. It was half the price of what we usually buy... and if it's good, we'll be able to keep our moscato loving friends in bubbly without breaking the budget, a consummation devoutly to be wished. :D
Elinor Everywhere
We love wine, and for everyday use we drink a Trader Joe's French wine, La Ferme Julien. When it's warm outside, I particularly like the rosè. When we lived on our sailboat we were Bota Box drinkers, too. Easy to store, and no glass. nmoira
Our current fave is the 2011 Innovacion Shiraz-Cabernet from Argentina. Ten bucks for a litre.
nmoira
The white moscato. I refuse to drink pink wine ;) :p Phew! That's a good answer.
teachermom2834
Bota Box is my current favorite. I like the Malbec but they have a red blend called "Redvolution" that a friend of mine really likes. I'm kind of hooked on the practicality of a box. trinchick
I was pleasantly surprised by concha y toro frontera Sauvignon blanc. It's $9 for a 1.5 liter bottle so I thought it would be awful. However, I had read about it in an article about plonk so I gave it a try. It is now my wine of choice. Tart and fresh and good.
Scarlett
Cupcake merlot is my new fav. But it is $12 a bottle....high price for me. ;). I like barefoot Syrah too for about $8 a bottle.
HollyDay
I buy Cupcake when it is on sale. Smoking Loon merlot is nice and is usually under $10.
Staceyshoe
Lindeman's is a nice cheap red for those who like dry and full-bodied. My SIL brought a bottle to Thanksgiving, and I thought it was probably a $15 bottle. I was surprised that it was only around $5-7.
violamama
My good deal last week was a Clos du Bois Chardonnay and Rouge for $6.99. We've gotta try the Clos du Bois stuff. I think my sister likes it, too.
bbmom
Challis Lane Merlot-if you have a BevMo it is almost always included in their 5 cent sale, but even at $9.99 it's a great wine.
