Renee in NC Posted May 17, 2012 Share Posted May 17, 2012 A little over a week ago, my oldest ds lost a very good friend from his high school basketball team. He had a heat stroke while participating in the Mountain Man March, fell into a coma, and later died. My ds attended the funeral last Saturday, and this loss has been very hard on my son and the school. He was told this morning that the girlfriend of that friend committed suicide yesterday. It is a horrifying, unbelievable situation all around. I cannot even imagine how horrible it is for the parents of both families, to grieve for the child of the other. The school is very small, with only 40 students in the graduating class, so the loss affects everyone - the former students, the current students, and the faculty. They just attended the funeral of the first student this past weekend, and now there will be another. Please pray for the families, my son, and the whole school community.
