DB in NJ Posted May 16, 2011 Share Posted May 16, 2011 but here we are, Sunday night, and she's still with us. Around Thursday afternoon she started going downhill. On Friday they moved her in to ICU and put her on a ventilator. She became so agitated that they had no choice but to sedate and paralyze her and make her completely dependent on the vent. Right now, the ventilator is the only thing keeping her alive. Her x-ray this morning did look better than the one taken yesterday, but that isn't necessarily a "sign" of anything. She is critical but stable -- meaning she's no better or worse than she has been for the last 2 days. Her rapid decline has halted, but she isn't really making progress at all. They've told me I need to eat and sleep because I'll have some tough decisions to make and I need to be able to think. right now, it's hard to even breathe, let alone think...... please, please pray Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
