For Fun: What do you put on your fries?

This needed to be a multiple choice poll. I voted ketchup only, because that's probably how I eat them most frequently, but I also like to sometimes just eat them salted, and sometimes with mayo with a little hot sauce stirred in.

Yup, family favorite here is French Fries and a shake DQ style, but Wendy's works too.

 

However, I voted Ketchup only because the shake thing is a rare treat for me anyway. Actually FF are too!

If i go out someplace- Fries NO salt (that way I get them hot and fresh), then i add pepper and ketchup

 

If im home- Salt, Pepper, Seasoning Salt, and Ketchup.

About half the time I like just salt and ketchup. Sometimes I add Tabasco to my ketchup. Sometimes I use bbq sauce. At Five Guys I like the malt vinegar.

I have been told about this option at In N Out, but have never tried it. Must try it once before we move out of CA!

Always with salt - and depending on my mood and location, one of the following....

 

- BBQ sauce

- ranch dressing

- tartar sauce

- McD's mac sauce (you can make a good imitation mac sauce at home by mixing ketchup, mayo, and some pickle juice)

 

I used to love getting curry fries when I lived in Germany - haven't looked into how to recreate that here, but I'm thinking you just mix some curry powder into ketchup (will have to try that).

 

Now I totally want fries. :D

I rarely eat potatoes, but if I have fries at a fair a place like 5 guys, yes to malt vinegar and salt please!

If I'm out, I eat them naked. If I make them at home (and usually they are pan fries), I smother them with tzatziki. :drool:

French fries are my guilty pleasure. I generally like them plain, but I will also eat them with buttermilk ranch dressing. When I was younger I ate them with mayo, but it tends to give me acid reflux now.

It's possible. I (still) have a friend who puts mustard on her fries. I'm not completely over it, but I've learned to look the other way.

Most of the time it would be salt and ketchup.

I also love french fries with gravy at the diner.

sometimes I like french fries with melted mozzarella and tomato sauce.

Cheese fries with cheddar or spicy jack cheese are also tasty.

Garlic fries are awesome

 

Okay, now I want fries and I will eat them with almost anything. No mayo or mustard. Those are not my kind of fry condiment.

I will eat them with any combination of:

-salt

-malt vinegar

-white vinegar

-ketchup

 

 

Or these*:

-gravy

-cheese curds

 

* This is called poutine in Canada, and it is insanely good. More kryptonite.

 

Swiss Chalet sauce as a fry dip is also good.

 

Special mention for fries with KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) gravy, which I haven't had in years, but must get this weekend. :D It is mother's day, after all. I may get a nice A & W root beer to go with. (Haven't had that in years, either.)

I made salchipapas for my kids tonight. It's Peruvian street food:

 

french fries topped with sliced and fried hot dogs, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise.

 

Dd ate them in Peru. We had them last month at a restaurant. Tonight was my first time making them, and they turned out well!

It depends on the fries. Sometimes it is just salt and ketchup. Sometimes it is mayo and ketchup. Sometimes I like them with cheddar cheese and ranch dressing.

I love fries; especially the already seasoned fried from Aldi's. I love pepper on my fries above all else, and salt is ok if it's lightly sprinkled. If it's McDonalds, I like them just the way they are without ketchup. Anyone else's need ketchup though.

I always have salt on my fries, so I don't even really think about it. It's kind of the understood ingredient. My blood pressure does not thank me!

Fry sauce is the only way to have fries IMO! DH likes it heavy on the mayo side, I like it with more ketchup. I always add salt, but never pepper or anything else. I also don't mind it made with bbq sauce instead of ketchup, but I've never made it that way at home.
