Granny_Weatherwax
Do you display them? Or did you pack them away? I have packed mine but am wondering if I should do something else with them.
Tangerine
How about this? http://adventuresinvoluntarysimplicity.blogspot.com/2008/10/follow-your-dreams.html It gives me a mixture of:glare: :001_huh:. Though I've read the rest of his blog, so I understand why.
LisaKinVA
They were framed and displayed, but since we've lived here, they are stored
EKS
Mine is in a box somewhere. The one and only time I have ever needed to dig it out was to fax a copy to BJU to become an approved Iowa tester.
Mejane
We thought we had lost ours in one of our moves, but recently found them behind some framed pictures of our kids. Guess they weren't a display priority after we had the kiddos. :D
Orthodox6
Packed away. It would be more annoying to fend off impertinent enquiries from those who wonder why, with a degree from X University, I am "just at home".
2cents
DH and I had ours framed and displayed for awhile but after our last move we just kept them in a box. I didn't really get why the guy in the previous link burned his since you can always get another diploma and a hard copy isn't really required much anyway.
RegGuheert
Good question. {Yelling} Honey, what did we do with our college diplomas? :001_smile:
Orthodox6
Already I see it coming. . . a thread asking whether folks still have their wedding photo(s) on display. If I were to set out ours, nobody would know who the bride was.

If he hacked into the computer system and deleted all of his academic records...now that would be something.
Granny_Weatherwax
Okay, so far I am normal for not displaying them. Whew!

Tree House Academy
Part of my college graduation gift from my family was a frame for my diploma. Mine holds the diploma and tassle with the year on it. :) It has been a nice keepsake.
Sara in AZ
Mine are in piano performance, so they are hanging next to the piano in my studio where I teach. (All right, the studio also happens to be the living room and I currently only have 5 students!) But seeing them helps me remember what I have accomplished and hopefully reminds my students that they are getting quality instruction. My husband is a software engineer, so his are hanging over his desk in the office where he spends a lot of time. I remember that my parents always had theirs packed away in a box somewhere and I think they are MIA. That's probably the norm it sounds like! Tap
I have absolutely no clue, but they are probably somewhere in the attic.

Night Elf
He has never displayed his diplomas. I've never thought about them being a house decoration. I've only thought about them being in offices. I did see my high school diploma this morning as I was going through a box. I thought, 'what a waste of money that fancy holder really is.' I remember paying like $25 for that thing! :tongue_smilie: Oops! I meant to say DH in the first sentence, not just he. :) Edited April 14, 2010 by Night Elf
G5052
A few decades later, I rarely think about them although I've had to produce them a few times.
Lara in Colo
Maybe for the guy who burned his it was sort of like burning your mortgage, perhaps he finally paid off his loans and realized he owned something that now needed a cash influx to update. higginszoo
It's around ... in a box... somewhere ... I'm pretty sure. When I applied to be a BJU tester, it was easier to go online and get a copy of my transcript than to find my degree.
mamato3 all-boy boys
They are both framed, but one of the frames is damaged, so it is in my hope chest. My grad school one is sitting over my desk in the school room -- a reminder to me on those frustrating days that I did, at one time, accomplish something, lol! erica471
I have no idea where my university diplomas is at. I think that its packed away somewhere. I do have one of those miniature diplomas in a drawer. Anytime I've needed proof of my degree for employment I've had to attach transcripts instead of a copy of a diploma. TravelingChris
My diplomas are framed and hanging up. My dh organized the framing and does the hanging up wherever we move. He has even more things he hangs up like his going away framed posters from everywhere.

MamaT
Ours are packed away. My wedding photo - now that is hanging on my bedroom wall. BikeBookBread
Undergrad in a box in their original presentation folders. DH's post-grad certificates and diplomas are all framed on his office wall...it's kind of expected in his profession and the Air Force. Wasn't cheap to get all of those framed, either. :glare:
texasmama
I have two, an undergraduate one and a graduate one. I have only a vague idea of where they are since I have not needed to display them since I quit a job ten years ago. I do work part time but display my professional license (which is required by law) and haven't bothered with my diploma. I don't really care to display them at home...everyone here knows about my degrees.
KidsHappen
They were promptly filed and have been there ever since. I went for the education, not the piece of paper and never once in all of my hubby's and my own working days has anyone ever asked to see any proof of our degrees. :001_huh:
Tess in the Burbs
ours are in tubs in the garage, lol. Haven't missed them all these years so no plans to frame them now. heck, my wedding dress is still hanging and has never been cleaned or boxed.....again, at this point what's the point? Brenda in FL
They are both framed, but one of the frames is damaged, so it is in my hope chest. My grad school one is sitting over my desk in the school room -- a reminder to me on those frustrating days that I did, at one time, accomplish something, lol! Ooh - I like the idea of hanging them in the schoolroom (if we will have one). I always thought it would be atrange having them hanging somewhere in the house - unless we had a home office - which we never had.
Rosie_0801
I think mine are in a tube on the floor between my dressing table and the wall. Now, my SCA scrolls are on top of the book case waiting until we can have them framed. They're really nice, with calligraphy, illumination, a real wax seal and signed by the king and queen! Priorities... :) Rosie
Sebastian (a lady)
Mine is in the safe deposit box as is dh's undergrad. I honestly have no idea where his Master's one is. We bought nice frames for dds's undergrad--the USNA is really nice--spot for her diploma and her commissioning with a pen and ink sketch of the chapel. And this thread reminded me that I need to get one for her Master's this week when I'm in Boulder--thanks! My USNA diploma and commissioning and dh's diploma and commissioning are all pretty much stored away. I used to joke that I'd love to do a guest bathroom that was USNA themed and hang the diploma there (I had a sponsor who had done this, always made me laugh).* The masters degrees are framed very nicely. DH makes a point of hanging my MS Ed up in a place of honor (for the Midianites to see). Now really important stuff like my Shellback certificate. You bet that this is framed. *I ended on something of a bitter note when an instructor behaved very dishonorably right before senior year finals. Put a sour taste in my mouth for several years. Heather in Neverland
My originals for both degrees are stored in a firesafe box. But I had them both bronzed and put on a wooden plaque and they hang in my office at work.
