Terabith
No picture for a couple days because I am out of data (yet another mystery). But the ladder is gone. The monolith is wearing a hat. 6
TechWife
Need more info - what kind of hat? Cowboy? Fedora? Toboggan? Ski mask? I wonder if they left the ladder in place because they knew they were going to add a hat and now that the hat is in place, the ladder is no longer needed. Perhaps it will change hats with the seasons? 4

Tiberia
Need picture. It's cruel to give us such an update without a picture. But, still, thanks for the update. I wonder if the ladder got stolen, or if its absence signals some sort of completion. Or if it was just waiting to get the hat up there... 1
TheReader
Hilarious! So....sports hat? Witches hat, for Halloween, to go with the child's pumpkin? Won't they need the ladder to get the hat off later....??? I wish the Easter Island Head people would dress up the EIHs. That would be super fun!!! RootAnn
Perhaps the concrete bunker under the monolith (And signalling the hidden entrance - because who would suspect such an obvious monument to note an entrance to a secret lair) is now finished and the ladder can come down.
Terabith
As soon as I am well enough to leave the house, I will get a picture. Or solicit someone else to do so.
Guest
My brain is trying to come up with a Monolith song....something like this (so a parody of a parody?) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDOI0cq6GZM
ktgrok
While people wait for the monolith photo, here is a photo of Chip the lawn goose in his Halloween costume. Just to keep people in good spirits as they wait. After all Chip came about because of the original monolith thread 🙂 14 2
Arctic Bunny
Can’t wait to see the monolith’s outfit, and love Chip! Thanks guys!

Terabith
It's not a very INTERESTING hat. I'm tempted to buy it a better one.
saraha
I like that the ladder is gone, but the level is still there
itsheresomewhere
That is not a hat. According to my teenager- that is the homing beacon part of the monolith. It needs a pilgrims hat or something very fall to go with the theme. 2

ScoutTN
Clearly the "hat" enables them to phone home! This could be a fun creative writing prompt... 1

Farrar
That hat looks like it's waiting for a statue. I think they're adding something. Is the white thing on top a place to fit it in maybe?

Like the real deal suit of armor. We are not in an area you just drive through so it’s 99.9% the owners of the house put it there. Or at least one of them. 😉 We stop and stare (how often do you see a full suit of armor on the roadside?!) and dh is “we should get it! Let’s throw it in the truck! It’s with the trash so obviously they don’t care.” I told him I wasn’t going to be caught dead rifling through the neighbors trash and maybe there was a reason it was there.....we finally agreed if it was still there the next day he could get it before the trash company came by. Well, it was gone and now it’s on their front porch and has been ever since! I totally want to know the story behind that one because you know there’s got to be one. “Hey remember that time I came home late from the bar and you threw my suit of armor in the trash?!” Hmmm. I think we can figure out the background story...and why it's now sitting on the porch. 🤣😄
TheReader
I think there used to be only one hanging basket arm??? The addition of a second one appeals to my sense of symmetry for sure. It *is* starting to look lighthouse-ish. The decorating one could do with this thing, once they get it complete, is limitless....I'm starting to kind of want one..... Katy
The white thing looks like one of those pvc end pieces. I bet it is supposed to fit something there. Has anyone checked to see if it's a geocache? They should put a jack o lantern up there.
Farrar
I like the idea of a geocache. Also, maybe it'll become a Pokemon Go gym. It's hilarious to me how they use local front yard landmarks for those things.
