Sneezyone
I have matinee tix. I may be the only one there but I care not!
LucyStoner
We have tickets for the bar theater on Saturday. Date night. You order at your seats and they bring you food.
madteaparty
When DS saw It here he was one of two people in the huge theatre. Some of the expat moms are planning a lunch outing but I think I will go by myself at the same theatre DS saw It.
astralweaver
I’ve had it on our calendar for weeks. DH and I are seeing it tonight. We’re in Philly and the 6:30 and 7 shows were all sold out. We’re going to an 8:15.

Dd18 and I saw it last night. I'll agree with the above assessment. So much fun and very satisfying. They knew what the fans want and served it right up...
theelfqueen
See it last night. Loads of fun. Just a happy outing! Our theater was sold out.

Scarlett
I never watched a single episode, but my mom wants to see the movie so dh and I are going with them on Sunday to see it.
history-fan
Very Entertaining and so much fun. Ready to see again!
Ottakee
Would I enjoy the movie if I never saw the show?

It is assumed that you know all the characters and their seasons and seasons of backstory. There's no exposition of backstory for those who are jumping in at 11:59... I mean, it'd probably be enjoyable on a surface level, but there would be a ton you would miss, and all of the happy resolutions wouldn't be so satisfying, lol. Isn't there somewhere to binge watch the rest? Edited September 20, 2019 by Matryoshka

There is a sort of Downton Abbey catchup video I have seen on Facebook that you could watch. I do think you would miss a lot of the "inside" jokes. theelfqueen
I sent that recap to friends who went with us who hadn't seen it -- they felt well prepared. The ones who hadn't seen it had a few questions but still really enjoyed it. One said she was going to go and watch the whole series now LOL
theelfqueen
The whole series is available for binging on Amazon Prime.
Sneezyone
I thought I would find a mostly empty theater at 12:45p. Nope. Full house and lots of laughs.
MrsMommy
My girls and I saw it last night. It was exactly what we wanted it to be, and we loved it. It was so nice to visit Downton again!
Familia
I've never watched DTA, but I might consider it. I only clicked on this thread to see if something creepy will happen to me LOL
Xahm
I would like to go see it but will probably wait until it is streaming somewhere. If I had a local friend to go with I would, but dh, though he's go if I pushed him to, just really wouldn't enjoy it. Our date nights are rare enough I don't want to waste one. mmasc
DH and I are going tomorrow afternoon and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I loved, loved the show and never have movies I want to see at the theater, so this is a real treat for me. I’m so excited to be immersed in Downton again for a couple of hours!
Scarlett
We went to see it tonight. We all liked it. Even though none of us have ever watched a single episode, we were able to follow it well. Thanks in part to the catch up video someone posted in this thread. Rosie_0801
I went to see it with a friend last week, and we both enjoyed it, despite her only having seen a few of the early episodes. I was *so* relieved nothing particularly mean happened to anyone. *phew*
