From us he's getting Lightroom 5, a longboard, new drum sticks, a photography book, a couple of movies, a few photography supplies. I don't remember what else. The in-laws are getting him a video camera. He's got an awesome photography camera but needed something better for movies.

She is 14 but she will be 15 just 3 days before Christmas.

Make-up (she wears foundation on rare occasions and she has to wear a super expensive brand because of her sensitive skin) $40

Vera Bradley wallet to go with her purse $35

Jeans $12

Art book and sketch pad $20

I was supposed to stay under $100, but I think that comes to $107   :001_rolleyes:

Scarf made with fabric that matches the wallpaper in Sherlock's flat (got the fabric from Spoonflower)

Skirt made with fabric with a little ratty girl running around playing (fabric also from Spoonflower)

Large stuffed turtle -- she played one in a musical this fall

Cat in the Hat ornament -- she was Cat in Seussical last spring -- and a turtle ornament

Book on ballet physiology

tablet of her own so she stops hogging my ipad and/or dh's Kindle

We really really REALLY want to put together a tshirt with a picture of a turtle and the quote from Loki: "I am burdened with glorious purpose."  I'm not sure that's going to happen at this point, especially because we're in the midst of a run of White Christmas (she's Susan).

Also, probably other stuff I can't remember due to lack of sleep.  For Christmas I want a nap.

She is 15 year old:

Curling wand and hair spray and heat spray, etc

cute coat

just dance 2014

a movie

sweater

a couple of scarves

and I feel like she needs one more thing so maybe:

a pair of cute boots

or ?

I wish she would be interested in any sort of craft or lego, but she's not.  She specifically asked just for clothes and none of that junky Christmas stuff that I usually get her? hmmm...

She just turned 14 at the end of last month.

Stocking gifts:

-A few leotards

-New heads for her tooth brush

-Toothpaste

-Gummy bears

-New pink ear buds for her i-phone

-Sugar free strawberry kiwi gum

-Gel pens

-"Post it" Notes

-Rainbow colored index cards

-Hello Kitty Pencils

-Chapstick

-Lotion & Bath Gel from Bath & Body works

-Candy Canes

From Mom & Dad:

-Topaz/Gold Bracelet

-HP Tablet (Kind of not as much of a Christmas gift because we've realized she needs one for her AP Government class if her dad wants to get his personal tablet back.)

-2 Sweater Dresses

-Fashion Boots to wear with long skirts and dresses this winter.

I know my MIL is giving her some more heirloom jewelry and my mother is donating books in her honor (which she knows about and picked out the books---I believe my mom also plans to take her shopping which she isn't aware of but will be thrilled with).

We're having an "experiences" Christmas.

My mom is going in with us to purchase season passes to Dollywood for the whole family, so her only other gifts from us will be small things in her stocking:

Water bottle

gardening gloves

winter gloves (maybe)

"Bowties are Cool" socks

Makeup (2 brushes, foundation, blush--She's new to makeup)

Dr. Who "disappearing Tardis" mug

My dad is giving her money to go skiing. She's never gone, even though we live close to ski slopes, so that will be a big hit.

He may also pay for her to have some art lessons.

My mom is giving her a hair straightener, while dmil is giving her a jewelry box.

I think that's it!

13.5 yo

For Solstice (our family religious holiday):

Tardis blanket and "Whovian" necklace from Hot Topic, plus a coupon for $15 off $30 one week in January (came when we ordered)

graphic novel "Santa vs Dracula" (this was a kickstarter we were supposed to receive last year, but it just arrived a couple of weeks ago)

part of her present was going to the Dr Who 50th anniversary special in the theater just after Thanksgiving

(the new TV we got on Black Friday was the main entire family Solstice present as well as birthdays for myself and my husband---his is just before Christmas, mine just after)

For Christmas stocking:

sesame sticks

chocolate covered gummi bears

owl shaped lip balm

small itunes gift card ($10-15)

some other candy/food related things

From others that I know of:

grandparents (set 1--one of about 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren)--$10

grandparents (set 2--only grandchild)---that I know of--tenth Doctor and Tardis tshirt, probably at least one book (possibly the entire Allegiant series) and possibly a movie ("Warm Bodies")

godparents---makeup

one aunt and uncle (my sister)--probably cash, usually in the $10-$15 range

Most gifts are necessities (replacements for outgrown, worn items):

Plush robe
PJ's
Necklace chain
Nail Art Stickers
Loom Rubber Band (that new thing out there)

Fleecy throw (odd lots for $6)!

Christian fantasy book (met the author irl and he autographed it for me)!

I'm trying to find inexpensive leather gloves for horseback riding, as well as an affordable horse riding helmet.

Slippers

Earrings

DVD (Walmart had these for $2)!

Candy (small bag)

Amazon download MP3s

She wants an IPod, but those are pricey.  Maybe for her birthday.

There are a couple of other things.  She "needs" shoes......

We do NOT normally buy so many different items, but as I said most are replacements for outgrown items.

gardening tools

a box of baking stuff, including an owl cookie jar (she's into owls)

a couple board games

stocking stuffers (fuzzy socks, word magnets, fuzzy pjs)

Normally I'd try to make her something, but this year she wanted to make her own.  We got her the fabric and she's going to make a new apron to replace the one I made her years ago that she STILL wears, if you can imagine, hehe.  (Imagine 5'9" girl wearing apron I made for her when she was 3'.    )

I go a little over the top for Christmas. LOL Looking forward to Christmas is the only thing that gets me through the hardest part of the year for me, so the kids get spoiled instead of me getting therapy.  :0) They only get gifts from us and one grandma, so this is all she will get, but here is dd15s list.

iTouch 32g 5th gen ($50 from gma applied)

4 sweaters from Hollister/AE

1 jacket from Hollister

Tichnu card game

2 expansion packs to Munchkin

Slippers

2 pair of Skullcandy Earbuds (1 pair Titans for home, 1 pair Inked for her backpack)

Ikea wooden shoe rack for her closet to match her other one

Philosophy shower gel

Flat Iron

2 or 4 Trampoline park tickets (I need to buy them this morning)

Prismacolor professional double tip markers 24ct

Prismacolor extra fine professional markers 8ct

Eos lip balm and other such items for her stocking

2 pair of silver earrings

jewelry rack for the wall

mandala color book for new markers

$25 iTunes card

professional make up brushes

Pillows for her bed

$25 iTunes or open gift card from her brother

$25 iTunes or open gift card from her sister

$25 iTunes or open gift card from the extended family gift exchange (she and dd7 are the only ones left in the 'under 18 exchange' so we know what she will get LOL

I was going to get her a marker drawing pad, but then realized that I have a bunch of various styles of loose paper upstairs that is marker quality so I think I will bundle it into a folio and give it to her instead.  She loves to drawn mini pictures on index cards, so I will chop some high quality paper to mini size for her.  :-) The rest I will leave whole until she is ready for it.

2 expansion packs to Munchkin

Just as an aside, is Munchkin fun?  I've seen it in the stores and don't know anything about it...

We do brother/sister gifts too.  Or more precisely, I take ds shopping and let him buy for people and did the same when dd was little.  Now she does her shopping herself.  I don't remember what he got her.  I don't THINK it was the groundhog targets from Cabela's, but you never know.  :D
