Luanne
My daughter dresses up every year. She is 25. She just loves dressing up. This year at least she has a reason to since they are dressing up at her work. She is going as a wrestler named Sting this year. She wants me to dress up as well. I am torn between being John Cena and being a clown. I am leaning toward being a clown.
blondeviolin
Probably not. By husband is going as Gru and the baby will be a minion. Cheap costumes FTW! If I could get my older kids to be minions I would. How dare they have opinions!
Loowit
I haven't dressed up in years, but this year we are doing a party for the cub scouts so I should probably come up with something. I will probably "steal" DH's pirate shirt for my costume.
SailorMom
I always dress up - just to hand out candy :) This year we're actually going to a costume party. I think DH and I are going to be Gilligan and Mary Ann....
Mrs Mungo
Yes, we have a Halloween party most years and most people who come dress up. This year, it's the Saturday before Halloween. I usually do a simple costume on Halloween, if it's a different night than our party. I'm dressing as the Bride of Frankenstein this year. DH may or may not be Frankenstein, he hasn't decided. We have a variety of costumes/costume pieces in our box-vampires, witch hats, various capes, wings, white toga-type outfits, etc.
Chris in VA
I used to, when I taught preschool. Fav was going as a giant tube of Crest. Kids could all read the environmental print.
mommymilkies
Every single year. I've hit the crunch to make my final costume decision this year. :p
Lisa in SC
I dress as a vampirish fortune teller every year to hand out candy. We set up a table outside with a fog machine and sound effects. My costume and the yard decorations are a tradition. Sometimes I think I'd like to change it up, but tradition always wins.
lynn
I have a really cool glow in the dark halloween t-shirt I wear when I bring dd out, does that count?
Delirium
Every year! I'm wearing my rainbow spider web witch hat and dress right now, about to head out to a girl scout event. Next Saturday I'm hosting a murder mystery, so I'll be dressing as my character. On Halloween I'll be wearing my witch hat and double layer cloak for warmth. BarbecueMom
Yes, I'm going to be Amy from The Big Bang Theory. DH is going to be Sheldon. He's actually wearing his shirt right now.

That's an awesome idea! I love Big Bang Theory. It is my favorite television show.
Miss Tick
I'm going as a picnic. I have little plastic ants to glue on with eyelash adhesive, up the side of my face and into my hairline. Then I am pinning the kids' play picnic tablecloth to my front with pictures of food on it. I think I'll carry a basket of cookies to hand out. What kind of makeup do you wear when you are a picnic? Orthodox6
Being a non-observer of the day, no. Was this thread exclusively for those who do observe the event? Thread title's wording left the question open. Just ignore, then, if applicable.
PinkyandtheBrains.
Usually either as a Gypsy or in my Ren Faire costume. Depends on our plans any particular year.
Stuart
Yes. We always have a family theme for Halloween. This year we going as characters from the book my son is writing. It's a sequel to LOTR. We are elves. It's been fun having him create the costumes. I love his imagination.
MomtoCandJ
I do when I take dd out. This year I'm using one of dd's baby dolls to put under a shirt, cut out arm and leg holes for the doll and hang a pumpkin bucket from the arm. Above it I'm going to write "Let me out!" PeacefulChaos
Yup. I'm going to be a female version of the 10th Doctor. :) DH won't dress up. It's just not his thing. :D

Our dressing up is the extent of what we do. We never go to parties or do anything else. My daughter just likes to dress up. I think she would do it every day if she could. JustEm
I wanted too but don't know if I'll be able to get the costume together in time. DS is being Mario, DD is being Princess Peach... so I got the idea that dh could be Luigi (we already have the hat so everything else is easy,) and I'd be Yoshi with our 9 month old on my back as Toad. The yoshi costume is the only hard one and because of that I'm not too motivated to get it done. Maybe I'll happen upon one at Goodwill before Halloween. I'm also going out to a bar with a friend after trick or treating since we live in a college town and enjoy looking at all the college students' costumes. She'll make me put something on so I was thing of just wearing a monkey hat from my ds old costume.

Word Nerd
Last year I was a roller derby girl and actually skated around the building during our costume parade. It was a blast! I don't know what to wear this year. I thought about Luna Lovegood.

Guest
This is off topic but I had to share. One year when I was a child, my dad came home late on Halloween night. He wore his suit then cut out the letters I.R.S. and glued them to his briefcase. Every adult said his was the scariest costume they ever saw! We stopped celebrating Halloween when kids started having allergies. They still like to carve a pumpkin and hand out candy, though.
Mergath
I dress up every year. I use Halloween as my own personal Ren Fest. Fancy dresses, long cloaks, all that stuff. I'm almost always the only adult dressed up, so the local kids think I'm awesome. :D
soufflegirl
We're doing costumes at work (although I was planning to do a costume this year anyway). I'm Clara from Doctor Who, and my boss is going to be the Doctor.
mathmarm
No, I'm not dressing up, but I'm taking the kids out this year. Niece and Jr are dressing up. Niece is torn between being a shovel and a being a pirate-woman with a crown who is the boss. Not a pirate queen mind, you, and definitely not a princess. But a pirate...with a crown...who is the boss.

lavender's green
I'm not dressing up this year (I have a newborn and a toddler and my hands are a little full right now!), but when I was at the fabric store I was really eyeing up the patterns for old-fashioned costume. I'd love to make my own Elizabeth Bennet costume next year!

MedicMom
Our theme this year is dressing up as what we want to be when we grow up. DS is going as a firefighter; DD as a princess. I'm wearing pajamas, because when I grow up, I want to be someone who gets enough sleep.

freeindeed
My daughter is very excited to hear that you are going as Sting as well. :D I was pleasantly surprised when I read your original post. I wasn't sure if anyone on this board would know who the wrestler Sting is. (I thought they might confuse him with the singer Sting, whom I also like.) My guilty pleasure is watching TNA Impact Wrestling every Thursday night. :blushing:

Jerico
I hated dressing up as a kid but I would use Halloween as an excuse to wear my pajamas and be a "baby." Lol. So, not dressing up.
