Hunter
This is a complete art curriculum grades 1-8. It teaches everything step by step. Of special note, crayon drawing is taught in grades 1-3 as a form of painting with pages and pages of exercises using just 8 colors. See links below to see what was meant by a "crayon", before reading our initial misunderstanding of "crayons". Grade 1 Grade 2 Grade 3 EDIT: added Amy Jo's link. I hovered my mouse of the red button on the left and a menu of options popped up. From there I clicked on the PDF button.
Hunter
Unfortunately, some countries cannot download from Google. There are some Augsburg books at Archive.com, but most of these ones are not there. I have been waiting, not so patiently, for Google to fix their system, so I could download these. Figuring out how to download the pdfs, can be tricky if you are new to Google Books. Look for a drop down menu, in the upper right hand corner. For those people outside the USA, these really are amazing. See if a friend can burn them to CD for you. I'm going to have to learn how to do that, because I have an overseas friend that I would really like to send these to. I have NEVER seen an art curriculum I like this much, for ANY price.

It is very good, but the NEW grades 1-3 are better than the old book 1. Book Two, is the same book I linked to at Google. I have not been able to find the NEW books 4-8. If anyone does find them free, or for purchase, please provide a link. I think a lot of us would be interested. Thanks Stripe for those links! :-)
Hunter
I have the feeling we are going to be hearing a LOT about Augsburg for a long time to come :-) Ten years from now, we can be the ones to say, yes, I was one of the first ones to start using it way back in 2012 :-) And I have some more goodies that I know about. I'm just waiting a few days to spread the surprises out a bit. This is the best one though.

imhim
Thank you, I cannot download the google book to print lessons for my 3rd grader, but I was able to look in pdf at the ones from Cornell U and I think I will be able to print what I need!! Are these - Book 1 and 2 - for grades 3 and 4? For the OLD version Book 1 covers grades 1-3. For the NEW version, there is an individual book for each of grades 1-8. So far we have only found grades 1-3. Book 2--not grade 2--is the old version and for grades 4-8. No matter what age the child, I'd start with grade 1. That is where I am starting myself. Hunter
My computer is telling me that the grades 1-3 NEW Augsburg are all about 11 MB. Will Yahoo let me e-mail something that big? If so I'm more than willing to help people. I know in the past it was less than 2MB wasn't it?

Oh...I also see the PM from Hannah. I'll try that right now. Please no one fill up my almost full PM with requests yet. Lets see what happens first. 8filltheheart
Hunter, Thank you for posting the links to these books. I am getting the 4th-8th grade one printed and bound for use w/my girls. THey were reading through it online this morning and are both excited about using it. (We have numerous other drawing books, but this one actually goes so into so much more detail and depth.) Thanks! I'm so happy to help and share :-) I e-mailed a copy of grade 1 to Hannah and didn't get an error message, so...am hoping it went through. I'm going to have to e-mail pdfs from another computer though. My little netbook is full, and when I sent the pdf, my computer almost shut down on me. Removing a few files and restarting it seemed to remedy the situation, but I need to be a bit descriminating about what I ask the little baby to do. So I can take more requests now. I think I'm set up to be sent e-mails, rather than just PMs. If I am, people can send me e-mail requests for ebooks and I'll do my best to send them to you. I will send out all copies to anyone who is willing to accept PMs to share these, or any other popular google books, with other people.
