My favorite f*reskin story is hubby's. When we found out we were getting a boy, he wanted him circumsized just like him. Well, Mr Innocent, just because you walk around all day with your windowshades UP doesn't mean you are circ'd. He DIDn't KNOW he wasn't!

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!! :lol::smilielol5:

Roflol. I'm wondering the same thing.

And she seems to have waffled about whether the initial question was about the potential husband and *his* p*nis or about potential sons and what to do with *theirs*. Perhaps she thinks this is the same thing?!?

My dh is circ'd, but our son is intact. So, it doesn't necessarily follow that dad's state indicates a preference.

Oh, my goodness. This thread has been so funny! I can't read as fast as y'all are typing!

You actually brought up something I wanted to honestly ask. I know it will get buried in this thread, but - here goes...

I was with a man who didn't know he was. :001_huh: Topic came up after we had dated a long time and he said he wasn't but his brother was. I have no idea if his brother was or wasn't, but this man certainly was but he had gone through life thinking he wasn't. (He was a rocket scientist type, so super-smart, but not one to hang out in a locker room.)

And my sister had to explain to her high school home ec teacher (and the class) what it meant and what the difference was when they covered that lesson in some family class she took. (My sister was a teen mother of a cir'c boy so had first-hand knowledge. Teacher was totally clueless!)

Both incidences makes me wonder how much most people really know about that part of the body. :001_huh:

Object lesson? Or withdrawing from the battlefield when the foe is united in opposition?

That's what I'm wondering, too.

I took a break from the computer to get something to eat, and I started thinking that the OP's feelings were probably hurt by all of the comments we'd made, and I was ready to post an apology to her.

I was going to suggest that in the future, if she wanted to start this type of thread (something well outside of the mainstream,) it would be best to include in the thread title that the question was only for members of a specific religious denomination or believers in a certain way of thinking. I was also going to tell her that when you don't provide enough details, people will invent their own, so it's important to be specific if you want serious, helpful answers.

After reading her "it was an object lesson" post, I'm just not sure any more.

It didn't sound as though she was joking -- in fact, I thought she seemed a bit insulted by the rest of us in her subsequent posts where she thanked people who'd responded seriously to her question -- and if she posted her thread just to see what people would say (without bothering to mention that the whole thing was entirely hypothetical,) I think that's in very poor taste. Perhaps it was even in poorer taste than my responses to this thread, but the jury is still out on that.

I can't imagine what possible "object lesson" was intended here, and I would very much appreciate it if the OP would return to this thread and explain herself, because at this particular moment, I'm not thinking too highly of her. I would like that to change, because I truly think she was asking a serious question and we offended her, but I can't apologize to someone who might have only been pulling our chains.

What does everyone else think about this? Am I over-reacting?

Ack. What if my circ'd son's cir-dependent (girlfriend? fiance?) decided to set up a "like-minded" friend with one of my other sons?! Guess she'd be in for a surprise!

If the true courtship model is being followed, the young lady should never know the difference between circ'ed and uncirc'ed parts.

That's an interesting statement. My girls know the difference, even at their young ages, because I tell them what it is when we come across the word in our bible reading. Well, I know my oldest knows and understands the mechanics, my middle knows but probably can't actually picture it, and my youngest has heard me talk about it but probably doesn't remember or care.

Anyway, do you think families following a "true" courtship model don't discuss circumcision at all?

No, you aren't. I'm absolutely clueless and flabbergasted at the same time. I think that is why many of us respond the way we do. It's a "what?! are you kidding?" and then self preservation, to not over react, to introduce humor.

It's definitely not something I have ever run across in any courtship circles I've known.

:lol::lol: Busted

How about a Shakespeare pun?

Be fore or not be fore, that is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the soul to suffer

the slings and arrows of outrageous foreskins

or to take arms against a sea of penes

and by the snipping, end them.

But, would they have seen enough adult males to have developed an opinion? Especially in a particular state? I certainly had no opinion, even though I knew what the word meant (thank you, Biblical foreskin mountain, that was really cruel killing them after that, IMO).

Well I understand what circumcision is logistically, but I have no idea what an uncircumcised p*nis would even look like. I've never seen a guy naked that wasn't.

Now I'm curious. Off to google and praying my husband doesn't find this search in the history later :D :auto: and that I don't pull up porn sites.

You're totally going to pull up porn sites.

And please remember the forum rule that states that you are morally obligated (or immorally obligated, as the case may be,) to post links to any "good stuff" you happen to come across. ;)

I think that the concept of it might come up, but visualizing what that actually, really and truly looks like and how that body part would function in an uncirced way vs. a circ'ed way in a intimate relationship wouldn't be discussed.

Ask any woman with implants. Or nose jobs. They didn't do it to become better archers.

I didn't mean "we" as in the human race. I meant it more in the royal sense. "We" as in me and all my kinfolks. (I'm guessing. I don't know anything about the status of my male relatives' private parts. I just know we're not the type to put up with questions about things like that!)

:TD looks for a hillbilly-with-rifle smilie: This'll do:

Oh, my word. STOP! Don't do this! You will only get porn sites.

Go to the mayo clinic site, or webmd. or something. Don't google.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought Sheldon meant that they should have no knowledge of it.

Personally I have had a trollish theory going ever since reading the first post on this thread. Which is why I have waited so long to jump in. But now that you all are getting FUNNY, it is time to join the fray!

Ha! I had no idea until my 2nd son was born. Well, I had researched while pg with him, but stuck to illustrations, which weren't quite... adequate (?)

I guess I hadn't taken any special notice before my first son was done the day after delivery!

(All of my links had been vetted by Mothering.com, lol.)

This thread is way too much fun to let go of, just because there's a possible troll issue.

Besides, trolls want trainwrecks, not mirth and merriment, right?

Whatever the OP's original intention, she totally blew it with me when I read her "object lesson" post.

Actually it turned out fine. I found a rather clinical picture by searching Google Images and uncircumcised doesn't look that different from circumcised to be honest. Here's a link if you want to look for those gals like me who are uncircumcised know-nothings.

*Edited to get rid of link since a link was posted upthread*

I also found a picture of what is supposed to be a paparazzi picture of Prince William urinating on the side of a polo field with a close up of his....well, anyway, let's just say he's not Jewish. ;)

Depends upon the type of circumcision. There are many places here in the US that do what is sometimes referred to as a "high and tight". There is nothing extra left to cover the glans.

Well, kilts are ALWAYS helpful. Just in general.

However, as for wearing them traditionally, really, there is no good way to ask that question either.

Do you mean ask IF or ask them to wear the kilt?

The 'if' question is easy, just place a fan in a strategic location.

Without delving too much into personal detail ;) , I do see how that could happen to a layperson. Not all circumsized penises look like miniature elephant trunks. Some resemble circed penises at a distance.

I was going to suggest, to those of you who have never seen an intact penis to do the following experiment:

Take two hotdogs.

Put a tiny turtleneck sweater on one.

Put a tiny crewneck on the other.

There you have it. :D

Ha ha ha. You forgot to mention that the turtleneck must cover the head until, um, it doesn't. The crewneck is on in the normal location.
