Aubrey
(We're due the same day.) Anyway, after a short phone conversation, she says she's not talking to me until we're sure we're having a boy, so there's no fighting over baby names. But, uh, for a girl, one of her favorite names is "Triceratops." I really think we'd be fine to talk all we want. ;)

bettyandbob
I'd be fighting for that name. Not because I like the name, but because I want to relive those years of bickering with my sister from when we shared a room and she used all the hot water for showers. bzymom
Don't know if she is serious, but it sounds like something I would tell my sister to entertain myself.:blushing: I hope you both have wonderful pregnancies!
Aubrey
Triceratops? That was a joke right? Or is your sister 5 years old? That's what I said! But apparently, her 4yo picked the name (Cera for short) for their 2nd, who turned out to be a boy. She sees this as her chance--last baby AND the right gender. Fwiw, she's thinking a middle name. Or a middle middle name.  Dh thinks she's just suffering pg hormones.
RoughCollie
So, if you have a boy, you can name it Little Foot.
TracieT
So, if you have a boy, you can name it Little Foot. Ducky was my favorite.

Harriet Vane
Hmmmm . . . by that logic, I guess I should have given ds the name dd chose for him: Fashion Boutee. :tongue_smilie:
mycalling
That's what she's saying so you won't want to use it on your baby if you have a girl.;) I'm sure she has a sane name picked she'll tell you about after you know you're having a boy. We've been teasing the big kids that we could name her Triceratops when she's born.

PinkInTheBlue
Ducky was my favorite. No, no, no Yep, yep, yep! We loved Ducky! Makes me wish our big teenagers were little boys again and watching too much Little Foot was our biggest problem. :}
Mommyfaithe
My oldest wanted to name my next one Rainbow Beautyheart...must be the Woodstock influence:lol::lol: She then decided on Daisy...and called her that for years and years.... Oy! I love 3 year olds!
Sparkle
Well, it's very cool that you're both due on the same day, but yeah, I'm guessing you're probably not going to be fighting over names. :001_huh:
T'smom
Triceratops is so clearly a girl name. It would just be silly to name a boy Triceratops! LOL!
ChristusG
Well, if Triceratops is okay, then I guess I should probably let my girls use their chosen names for their little sister, due in October. Rapunzel is at the top of the list for my 4 year old. That sounds almost normal compared to Triceratops LOL!
Aubrey
When 8yo was 3, she wanted to name her new baby sister "Jewelry Sparkle." She laughs at that now, but now that baby just turned 4yo & thinks "Jewelry Sparkle" would be perfect for Newbie. We did have 2 names off of her list that we both liked; that's why she stopped talking. But my dh nixed one of them, & her dh nixed the other, so we should be fine.

Dobela
Well, the other day my hair stylist was describing a graduation she went to for a step sibling of another friend. The beautiful young woman graduating from nursing school is named Tera - short for Teradactyl. So, unfortunately, your neice won't be the first lovely person given the same name as a dinosaur. Apparently Tera's parents thought her name was a cool, hippie, progressive sort of a name.
