  1. I've been to the shop that she used to have before she closed it since she's local to me. Nice lady :)
  2. http://www.lewisandclarkheritagedays.com/ Depending on when you plan your trip, you could go to the Lewis and Clark Heritage Days.
  3. If you come to St. Louis, there is also the boathouse in St. Charles http://018386d.netsolhost.com/index.html
  4. Riedell used to allow you to order different sizes on stock boots for a higher charge. Like you could order a size 4 left foot and a size 5 right foot. For a skater just moving into freestyle that would make more sense than ,oving into customs.
  5. If he's still out there, the local bird rescue place advises putting them in a basket and tying in the tree. The mama will come back and feed them in the new "nest."
  6. We have the kids earn tokens and once the earn enough they can cash them in for a pack of gum, candy in the checkout lane, a slushie, or an mp3 download.
  7. We got our caterpillars from Insect Lore via Amazon. If you have prime they ship free and it works out cheaper than buying them directly from the company. All 5 are in the process of forming their chrysalis right now :)
  8. Has anyone done this deal? Our subscription ends in a few days and dd loves it. I'm not paying $75 but $37 I can live with.

  10. Right. OP, you can have a fundraiser and earn $300 for your troop and then decide to donate $300 of troop funds to the organization. What you can't do is have a fundraiser and advertise that the money will go to another organization, it has to be a fundraiser for your troop account.
  11. My dd asked santa for a kitten a couple of years ago. Santa brought a fur real pet kitten. We explained that santa NEVER brings live animals,
  12. Sportwash might do it. This time of year they have it in the hunting section at Walmart.
  13. One of mine has had a barking cough for 2 weeks and the baby (2 1/2 weeks old) has escaped it so far. My fingers are crossed that she continues to be immune.
  14. I've heard of people converting old jewelry armoires from thrift shops into storage for AG clothes.
  15. I've also heard it as "something you want, something you need, something to play with and something to read"
  16. When teaching dd, I found that she had the easiest time using #7 or 8 circulars in 16in, but that might be because they fit better in her smaller hands.
  17. Would the 5th grade version of this be too much for a 4th grader? I ordered something else for grammar and writing for my 4th grader this year and we are both ending up frustrated and I don't think she's retaining anything. I really like the looks of Saxon and the only thing holding me back is that it starts with 5th grade. Looking at the samples that I've found online, it looks like there is a lot more instruction in grammar in Saxon than in Write Source which is what we are using.
  18. We have a very small library for our city but can request books at many neighboring libraries through ILL. There is only one computer in the library that is used for the sole purpose of searching the catalog but I can access the library system at home so I do all of my requests there. I would think that with such a large library you should be able to do the same thing, it's certainly worth asking :)
  19. We aren't religious either, so I might not pick up on some things that would be important to you. We've read Felicity, Samantha, Kirsten, Kit and part of Rebecca. Rebecca is Jewish, Kirsten I believe is Christian since there is a lot of attention paid to her celebrating St. Lucia's day, and I don't remember religion being discussed in the other books but it's been a while. It seems like all of the girls sneak out of the house against their parents' wishes at some point or have some secret that they are keeping, but ultimately they get their parents involved to solve the problem.
  20. Well, I certainly don't have to worry then!
