Jean in Newcastle
I don't mean the spray. I mean a sponge, rag, or paper towel. I use a sponge in the kitchen and then microwave it to disinfect it. But somehow I'm grossed out by the thought of putting a bathroom sponge into the microwave. I use paper towels now in the bathroom but was hoping to find a cheaper way to clean. OnTheBrink
I use disposable clothes from either Mrs. Meyer, or Method.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Well, for a quick clean up, I used Lysol wipes, but those aren't exactly cheap. For a good cleaning, I use old towels that I've cut into rags, and then I just wash them with the bleach load in the laundry.
Parrothead
I bought a bunch of cheap wash cloths. I use one then throw it into the washing machine. I've always got a clean cloth rag to clean the bathroom with.
Chris in VA
Clean rags here, or pt's when I can't find a rag (by rag I mean cheap washcloth from Walmart--10 for $2.50). They have rags with net, too, for a little more; I think they were 6 for $2.50 last time I went.
newlifemom
Hmmmm, I still use sponges and micro them. I suppose rags are really a better way to go. Hard to let go of old habits.:)
Tap
I use my clean downgraded/stringy kitchen cloths or white bar towels that I use for all cleaning. I use 2 clean cloths for each bathroom. I start with mirrors, cabinets, toilet with one. Floor/walls with the other.
extendedforecast
I keep old rags on hand specifically for the bathrooms. I wash the sinks first, then the tub/shower, and finally wipe the exterior of the toilet with the rag. I use one rag per bathroom, then wash them with the bathroom rugs after all the bathrooms are done. I clean bathrooms once per week, all in one day (we have four in this house). Oakblossoms
I use rags and baby wipes. Baby wipes are great for quick clean ups and I can just toss them. Great for toilet wiping and three boys. I have a scrub brush for the shower. It's all tile and never clean though:001_huh:
KidsHappen
I use old rags and then soak then wash them with bleach.
MaMa2005
I have two big baskets of rags - one upstairs and one down. We use lots of rags for everything around here (DS can be a little OCD about cleanliness) - including the bathrooms. I do a rag load every other day with bleach
nmoira
I use rags... I've had the same bag for years.
Jennifer in MI
I use old baby diapers. They are the BEST rags!!!
3lilreds in NC
Floursack towels. You can get them inexpensively at Walmart and Target. They work really well! They were recommended in the Speed Cleaning book the website is here. http://www.thecleanteam.com/
TXMary2
Currently I use a sponge that only gets used in the bathroom. However I also use Clorox wipes. I have been considering buying some cloths to use in the bathrooms and then washing them in hot water in the washer and reusing them only in the bathrooms. Dawn in OH
You know those generic baby blankets they give you at the hospital? They make wonderful rags, and I've had 4 babies. I cut them up and threw them into a box along with old/stained washcloths and towels. We use those for cleaning the bathroom, spills, etc. They have almost entirely replaced paper towel usage. Saille
I use old washcloths that are dedicated to bathroom scrubbing.
2squared
I use sponges and then I put them through the wash. I wipe down the bathroom in the morning, and then that sponge makes it into the day's laundry.

Julie in MO
I don't have to worry about nasty chemicals (I hope) in a baby wipe so I can happily assign bathroom chores to the teen and pre-teen at my house!:001_smile: Blessings, Julie
Guest Katia
Paper towels. Only. Unless I use a Clorox wipe, but that is rare. It is usually my home-made cleaner and paper towels. After spending years and years using rags/cloths, I am much, much happier with tossing the paper towels. It is an expense I gladly pay. Danestress
at Costco. I have colored ones and white ones. The white ones can be bleached. I have a horror of reusing the same cloth over and over. To me, once I've used it, it has germs, and I don't want to keep spreading them. So I tend to spray with a homemade solution and wipe with one of these rags. The just go in the laundry. I have a lot, so they accumulate.
Forget-Me-Not
I just use old rags to wipe down the sinks/counters/tubs. Toilet brush for the bowl, antibacterial wipes for the rim/seat/lid/base of the toilet. Paper towels for the mirror.
Frontier Mom
Old kitchen towels that are faded and ragged plus I just tore apart some really old sheets I had. Put them in a laundry hamper behind the laundry room door and use these for cleaning.
ElizabethB
We squeegee ours and let it drip dry, clean it periodically with a scrub brush, I let that drip dry, too. My parents wipe the shower walls dry with their towel and let the bottom drip dry, they wash their towels afterwards. (Whoever takes the last shower of the morning uses their towel to wipe down the walls, so they are only doing a bit of extra laundry.) mcconnellboys
I use old washclothes or microfiber cloths I specifically bought for cleaning in the bathroom. I rinse well and wash those items together, with bleach, vinegar, etc., in hot water. I use swiffer type wet clothes for mopping and discard those. I use a sponge in the kitchen with an antibacterial cleaner. We do microwave or put them through the dishwasher sometimes, but more generally, we just throw them out and get a new one pretty often. Needleroozer
Haven't read other replies, but I use Clorox wipes. They are pricy, but imho are worth it. I don't have to worry about having clean rags, washing them, etc. The kids can easily use them at a young age, and it is worth it to pay for the wipes when the kids can easily help with cleaning chores. I get the wipes on sale whenever I can, and I know they cost less at Costco.
H0MEFree
Old tshirts cut up are used to clean around here and we just throw them in the wash. The $1 store has microfiber towels sized at abot 14x20 and they would work really good. Never bought them for that though.
BikeBookBread
Microfiber cloths that I wash immediately. Method "Le Scrub" and Method bath and tile cleaner. Periodically (like now when I'm in "home must be ready to show to a renter" mode) I keep pre-moistened wipes on hand. My fave are Method bathroom wipes -- smell like Eucalyptus and are a little tougher than Clorox wipes or standard Method wipes.
Rosie_0801
I bought a bunch of cheap wash cloths. I use one then throw it into the washing machine. I've always got a clean cloth rag to clean the bathroom with. Yep. Me too. Rosie
