Dawn in OH
I definitely do NOT think Johhny Depp is the sexiest man alive, but at least he's not a little boy. I think I just prefer fairer haired men, with broader shoulders. I couldn't pick ONE, but my list would include (in no particular order): Sean Connery Harrison Ford Liam Neeson (yeah, I like old men) Eric Dane Brad Pitt (didn't like him much when he was young and everyone was crazy for him) Gerard Butler
KidsHappen
I also wanted to add that this is always my favorite post of the year. Oh, and I absolutely agree with Sean. He has always been pretty close to the top of my list along with Harrison Ford and a few other old timers like Sir Anthony (I epscially liked him in Zorro, love the long hair). I have am also very fond of Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy) and for some strange reason that I can't even begin to explain, I REALLY like James Marsters but only as Spike (once again from Buffy). I think it's the whole bad boy thing. Some new comers that I am really liking are: Joshua Jackson: http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3DJoshua%2BJackson%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Db1ie7%26fr2%3Dtab-web&w=379&h=600&imgurl=www.celebritygossip.com%2Fpublic%2Fcelebrity_pictures%2Fjoshua_jackson_470_1.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.celebritygossip.com%2Fcelebrities%2Fjoshua-jackson&size=260k&name=joshua+jackson+4...&p=Joshua+Jackson&oid=33ffa494ce3366ee&fr2=tab-web&no=15&tt=30102&sigr=11pg40eji&sigi=12abemvjc&sigb=12rddihvq I like his character and the twinkle in his eye. Jeffrey Dean Morgan: He has a smile that could melt butter. And finally, T. J. Thyne from Bones: http://nicegirlstv.com/gallery/albums/Bones/cast-season4/normal_tj-thyne2.jpg He looks especially nice sans shirt. :tongue_smilie:
Kim in TN
They had it right last year. Hugh Jackman is the bomb. Honestly, I think the most perfect man ever created! I agree! As much as I like Johnny Depp, he's no Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman is a wonderful actor and is gorgeous! He also seems like a great dad and husband. Total package. LOL :)

KidsHappen
For me it was him in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that ruined it for me. Yeah, definitely creepy here. Unfortunately, I think he will be about the same in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. :glare:
KidsHappen
Johnny Depp is definitely attractive and certainly a very good actor, but not my first choice for sexiest. Me likes some o'this: Also improving with age. I never really like him before City of Angels but how can you not love him after that preformance? Tree House Academy
While I don't desire to see Rob Pattinson up there, I also don't really desire to see Johnny Depp. Yuck! He is just so...creepy to me. P.S. I think people like the twilight guys for the characters they play from the book.
Tree House Academy
I have loved Joshua Jackson for over a decade. He got his start as the lovable Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek. :)
herbalgirl
I've seen them and still can't stand Daniel Craig. I think he looks like Frank Burns's son. ;) :iagree::lol:
Mrs Mungo
You like alpha males, not beta males. I'd hanker a guess that most of the women on this board do. a Very true. My husband is always thinking I should think beta-guys are cute and I'm always saying "he's too girly." :tongue_smilie: We had a discussion last night because he doesn't think Daniel Day Lewis is that good looking anymore, while I think he's yummier than ever. Have you seen either of the new Bond movies???? I'm no huge fan but you'd never view Daniel Craig as wimpy if you had.....they are much edgier and agressive than the previous bond movies. Definitely not wimpy. I agree! I think Daniel Craig is much tougher than the Brosnan-style Bond.
FriedClams
Daniel Craig. Wow. Best Bond ever (and I think I had the movie on MUTE last time...) Harry Connick. Yeah. He's awesome. And my DH. happygrrl
I actually gasped out loud when I got to this post; my kids are still asking me what is up and I am still staring at the screen. Mr.Thornton, I will look back at you!!! Anytime!!! Yeah, they forgot someone...Mr. Thornton!!
AuntieM
Was going to chime in for my top 2, but others said them first... Clive Owen and Gerard Butler. I do love Mr. Thornton, but he is in some ways a shadow of the one and only Mr. Darcy, Colin Firth. I don't mind Johnny Depp so much, thought he was great as Cap'n Jack, but not exactly sexy (maybe a little bit, after a much-needed visit with dental hygienist). No, I think no beta males for me. Definitely not anemic-looking ones. Honestly, I am beginning to think that Rob Pattinson goes out with paleface make-up on so that folks will wonder if he really is a vampire.... If a woman had a case of dark under eye circles like that, she'd likely invest in a good concealer.

Denisemomof4
He would be under my "I don't get it" category, but I recently saw him on an Ellen show. He was ADORABLE!!! He's got the greatest personality. He might not be the sexiest man to the eyes, but once you see his personality (in front of a camera!) his status is kicked up immediately. :001_smile:

I haven't seen the most recent one nor am I am big Daniel Craig fan but there is one particular scene in one of the recent Bond movies that removes any doubt what-so-ever that he is a wimp. KidsHappen
Very true. My husband is always thinking I should think beta-guys are cute and I'm always saying "he's too girly." :tongue_smilie: My hubby and I frequently have practically the same conversation. Any man that he would consider attractive, I would consider too pretty. On the other hand, any woman I consider attractive, he considers scary. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that my hubby is himself an alpha.

cathmom
Not my favorite, but better than some of the teens. My personal fave is Pierce Brosnan. And that new Bond guy, he just seems sorta wimpy. But that's my opinion. I love Daniel Craig. My dh, the bond fanatic, prefers Connery or Brosnan, I like the edgier bond. I am a big Bond fan, and I thought I would not like Daniel Craig. But then we watched Casino Royale. I find a certain beach scene VERY confusing and to follow the plot I must watch it at least 3 times!! I still would have to say that Roger Moore is my favorite, with Pierce a close second. Actually I pretty much like them all except Sean Connery, which I know puts me in a very small minority, but hey, that's where I am comfortable. I hate the title "Sexiest Man Alive" because it makes no sense to me. Next year, will Depp stop being sexy? Shouldn't they award it to someone and then wait until he dies to give it to someone else? "Sexiest Man of 2009" would make more sense! And here's my nomination:

But you have a point, I like people's personalities too.....and when the personality stinks, the entire appeal is gone for me. Retired
Wimpy? Really? Johnny Depp just looks nasty imo Now give me Daniel!! I just realized how old I was getting when I realized I could date the Bond guy:D They always seems so much older. Bronson still has it even if he is 60 yo I wonder should we start a dh picture thread. I have to say my dh works out and pretty sculped but he has the 5 oclock shadow biker look, nothing like the bond guys.
