Happy2BaMom
I know about a dozen people scattered throughout WI (I graduated high school there many moons ago). Eight of them have been diagnosed with Covid in the last two days (one is a family group of 3). Too early to know if cases will be mild, or not. Apparently, the CDC (or some gov’t entity...I’m too lazy to google it) has said the entire state is basically now a hot spot. She is still hospitalized for major health issues, but said to be over COVID. This is a woman who was in hospice from cancer decades ago and made it out of that, too. Quoting myself to update. She tested negative multiple times, but her health was really declining. My son went to say his goodbyes yesterday. This morning, she tested positive.

The “official” communication has been that she had it, then cleared it, and is now positive again. It’s hard to talk about sick/symptoms because she has been sick with other issues and struggling with neurological declines unrelated to COVID. She’s been hospitalized since before the first positive test.
SKL
An Indian friend's cousin (in his 60s) reportedly died of Covid. Here's the story as it was told to me 3rd+ hand. He had some symptoms and was found to have a heart disease that had previously gone undetected. His doctor was trying this and that, and then the patient developed Covid-like symptoms. As quoted to me, "The hospital came and took him away. Nobody was allowed to see him after that. He died and the hospital buried his body. They said he had Covid." I don't know how they determined the diagnosis - official test or symptoms or what. I was told the original doctor did not initially test for Covid. His only daughter is living in the US and would not have been able to visit him in any case.
Shoeless
Ugh, more people I know with Covid: Friend of the family, male, early 70s, lives in North Carolina: was hospitalized in the regular covid ward for about 2 weeks and then released home on oxygen. His wife also had covid but did not require hospitalization and recovered at home. Cousin, male, 39. Quit smoking 3.5 years ago, quit drinking 18 months ago. Only known health issue is stomach ulcers caused by H. pylori. He contracted it on a Navy ship. Tested negative multiple times before the ship came back to home port, but on the day they got home he told them he wasn't feeling well. Navy said, "Not our problem; go home", and would not put him up in barracks to isolate. He went home, next day felt worse and tested positive. He spread it to his wife and baby. Baby is fine, took the wife 6 weeks to recover. My cousin is still having health issues. He's been in and out of the hospital 3 times, has brain fog, and has multiple ulcerated lesions in his stomach that are causing him to spit up blood. His clotting times are all messed up. I don't know if they are too long or too short, but he's got coagulation issues now.

Shoeless
No one new. My friend is still in the hospital. They were planning to send her to ICU because they could not get her 02 sat above 89, but they made some changes to her meds and it moved up to 90. It sounds like she may have some heart damage because they started some cardiac meds for her. She's on insulin injections now (she is not normally diabetic), and gets diuretic injections twice a day to get fluid off her lungs. If she goes home (yeah...*if*... 😞 ), the doctors told her to expect at least a few months of bedrest. There are a lot more details to her treatment that I have not posted out of privacy. I don't want to bother her by asking if it's ok to share more, so I've only shared the details that have been posted publicly on her profile. This is BAD, y'all. You really don't want this.

ktgrok
Neighbor directly across the street is in the hospital - waiting on Covid test results. He is having chest pain as only symptom so it likely is NOT Covid, but they can't/wont' take him to the cath lab to do angiogram until they have negative test results. But EKG and cardiac enzymes are normal, so they are not sure what is going on. And this is a guy that has known heart disease, had a heart attack a year ago, and was posting photos of himself at a party at the local bowling alley, so indoors, with no masks to be seen on anyone in the building. So frustrating! Oh - and his daughter is an ICU nurse working with Covid patients! ktgrok
And right after posting that neighbor got his results - negative. (testing was yesterday afternoon - got results this morning). kokotg
DH's county went back to 5 days a week in person last week (even though the county numbers were rising and didn't meet the metrics for reopening they set themselves). 4 days in his school shut back down for three days for "contact tracing and deep cleaning" after 2 positives and 140 quarantines. Two teachers in his department are quarantined, but not him. He's back today after 3 days of teaching remotely. I'm in a constant state of low grade rage about how the county is handling things (i.e. lying and misrepresenting the data)
SKL
So finally someone I know in my state/county has Covid. She was in Florida last week, so I am guessing that's where she got it. We did not have close contact with her, but this is someone involved with an establishment my kids frequent. (I'm being vague on purpose.) Her daughter tested negative. Another family who had close contact tested negative. So I guess she was not spreading it around while asymptomatic. She's an active senior citizen. Her daughter says she's "doing great," so I am prayerfully optimistic. There are a lot of new cases in my county and many schools are on remote only.

It’s been 8 days now since exposure; one felt ill Friday and got tested, two fell ill over the weekend, and all got their tests back just in the last 48 hours. Didn't you have it over the summer? If re-infection can happen over that short an interval, that is really concerning.
