Guest
And here I was hopeful he was back for the last Agents of SHIELD pod. They probably already taped it but darn. He was such a fantastic actor.

So sad. Actually, no, lots of people know him for his own acting in movies/TV series such as Aliens, Twister, Agents of Shield, Apollo 13, True Lies, Big Love, Hatfield and McCoys, etc. And I am very sorry to hear he passed away... Chris in VA
I wonder if they will be able to fit him into the Oscar recap tonight. I really liked him.
PrincessMommy
I really liked him! Loved him in Twister, Apollo 13, and True Lies. So sad. yes, and he made Aliens a great sequel and had the best quotes.... "Game over, man." So sad. May he rest in peace.
luuknam
Actually, no, lots of people know him for his own acting in movies/TV series such as Aliens, Twister, Agents of Shield, Apollo 13, True Lies, Big Love, Hatfield and McCoys, etc. Actually, my wife just happened to mention that she heard Bill Paxton died... and confused him with Bill Pullman as well. So, it probably isn't uncommon for people to be confused. Now, personally I don't know who either is/was, so at least *I* wasn't confusing them. I'm not saying that there are not people out there that confuse the two actors. Obviously there are. I am saying that I disagree with the statement that he is probably "best known" as the guy who gets confused with Bill Pullman. In other words, I wouldn't assume that he is best known primarily as the guy that gets confused with Bill Pullman because there are quite a few people out there that recognize Bill Paxton for the work he himself has done, which is a considerable list.

BarbecueMom
And here I was hopeful he was back for the last Agents of SHIELD pod. They probably already taped it but darn. He was such a fantastic actor. I was wondering about that too, especially since... you know who is also back. Now I want to rewatch Twister. :-(
RootAnn
I remember him best for Weird Science & Apollo 13 roles. I don't even know who Bill Pullman is, though, so .... He was so young. Sad!
Lady Florida. It's been a long running, ongoing joke that people get the two confused. Both Pullman and Paxton have been good sports about the whole thing.

Again, a joke. One that's been around for a long time. He had even been known to say himself that's what he's best known for.
Baseball mom
So sad :( He was also staring in the new CBS show Training Day. Just started a few weeks ago. I was enjoying the show.

Lizzie in Ma
One of my favorites, so sad. Watched Twister last night in his honor. One of my top ten all time favorite movies.
Cara4497
I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was an extra in one of his movies. He seemed like a really nice guy...chatting with the extras and hanging out with crew. The other big names were much more standoffish.
sheryl
I really liked Bill Paxton in several of his roles. So sorry to hear this and for his family. He was on my list for favs. Funny though I never confused him with Bill Pullman.

sheryl
He and his wife would have celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary this May. My heart goes out to her and to their children. And, he was to turn 62 this May. He married then at the age of 32 (give or take a week or two).
