Michelle in MO
me the news this morning; it is very sad. The strange thing was that we saw him being interviewed on TV just a couple of weeks ago, and he was very upbeat and positive. I guess he decided he was going to work until the very end. He will definitely be missed.

Ellie
My father died of colon cancer. We personally know two others who died of colon cancer. All were under 60 years old. In most cases--not all, of course, but most--colon cancer can be found early enough to be treated successfully. I go in for a colonoscopy on a regular basis (every 5 years is what is recommended here). Folks who have health insurance should take advantage of that fact and get it done. I'm not sure what to do now that I am not insured (long story), but I will find a way to get it done.

abreakfromlife
I am so sad!! He was so good, and I love reading all the tributes saying what a great, genuine man he was. People like him, and Tim Russert, are truly inspiring. I wondered, when they said it had spread to his liver, if he would be gone soon. That is such a bad sign. How very sad.
