helena
Thanks to Netflix I've wasted another evening on a cheesy '80s movie. My husband picked Highlander then fell asleep, I stayed up and watched it. :tongue_smilie: Funny.... I don't remember it being soooooo awful (yes, I was there to see it when it came out). So, have you recently re-watched an '80s movie and though it was still good/great after all these years? :lurk5:

black_midori
Back to the Future - my kids LOVE it (but I was shocked and appalled at how much cursing there is in the first one - I didn't remember that AT ALL, and I was close to turning it off when they finally toned it down some). I find a lot to be inappropriate with '80s movies. I turned Goonies off the last time I tried to put it on for the kids (a few years ago). I wonder if I should give it another shot? I loved it when it came out.

So, have you recently re-watched an '80s movie and though it was still good/great after all these years? :lurk5: I agree, Highlander did not age well at all. I also think Breakfast Club made a lot of sense when I was a teenager and now just seems really goofy. Now, I will duck and run for cover. ;) Margaret
pdalley
Real Genius Better Off Dead The Last American Virgin ( I like this one because - despite it's many many cheesy moments-it doesn't end like the typical 80's movie) Sixteen Candles Pretty in Pink Was Grease 80's or late 70's? LittleIzumi
It's hard to tell what's still good & what just still invokes giggly memories, like Wayne's World. Definitely Princess Bride, Karate Kid I and II, Star Wars set, maybe Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Bueller? Bueller?). Hubby would say Goonies as well. I disagree, but I never liked that one. We own Killer Klownz from Outer Space but I won't say it's stood the test of time. It's just so bad it's hilarious.
