Actually, Frankie Goes to Hollywood wasn't a one hit wonder... you just had to be, um, in the right circles to know that...

Onward.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Robert John)

Give up the Funk (Parliament)

Electric Avenue (Eddy Grant)

Barbara Ann (first by the Regents on American Graffiti, not the Beach Boys - same song)

Love Potion No. 9 (seemingly everyone has done it, once)

Video Killed the Radio Star (the Buggles)

"To You, My Love" by June Pointer (of the Pointer Sisters. Solo album.)

"Birdland" by that jazz band whose name I forget

Rico Sauve - Gerardo?

(Child in the 80's, teen in the 90's. I remember more from the 90's.)

Actually he had two hits -- "Rico Suave" and "We Want the Funk." If you miss him, please watch the movie "A Million to Juan." He really adds something to it.

About Devo, I saw a tour announcement for them. Presumably there are still some fans of theirs out there, somewhere....? Here's where they're headed this year....

'Sweetheart' Franke and the Knockouts (198? - the band famous because of this hit and the fact that Tico Torres of Bon Jovi was in this band for like five minutes :tongue_smilie:)

'She's a Bad Mamajama' by Carl Carlton

'Kung Fu Fighting' by ?

'New Orleans Ladies' by LeRoux

'No Easy Way Out' by Robin Tepper - went along with that painful montage in Rocky 4

Wild Cherry - Play that Funky Music White Boy

Redbone - Come and Get Your Love

Golden Earring - Radar Love and Twilight Zone (Two Hit Wonder?)

And I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with Night Ranger being a one-hit wonder band...they've had at least ten top-100 hits over the years. They'll be preforming at Walt Disney World at the Food and Wine Festival for three nights in October! :thumbup1: Okay, so they may not be a huge-hit band, but they can still rock!

Simple Minds had more than one hit song, as did the Proclaimers.

But maybe growing up in the UK, we had different one hit wonders.

The Vapors - Turning Japanese

Culture Club -

A-ha - Take on Me

Weather Girls -

Falco -
