RoughCollie
Leg sticking out ETA: Both front legs are out now. I was a bit worried when there was only one. Also a substance -- whatever the giraffe's legs were encased in (I guess) fell to the floor, and she picked it up and ate it. It was a membrane, but certainly not 6' long! Every so often she reaches back and licks those little legs. Edited April 15, 2017 by RoughCollie

Pink and Green Mom
I have watched intermittently over the past few weeks and am so glad you posted this here. Now I feel like my time hasn't been wasted  Thanks for the heads up!
zoobie
The live feed on their FB page has a better view.
Angie in VA
I have been watching her since early March! Dh likes to have the news on in the morning. He wants traffic and weather updates, but enduring the stories on fires, home invasions, shootings, and car crashes makes my blood pressure rise! April brought my bp down again. gardenmom5
has she been walking around for an hour with just the forelegs sticking out? is that normal?
DawnM
has she been walking around for an hour with just the forelegs sticking out? is that normal? Yes. I semi-watched the last giraffe and that was how it was for a long time.
Ewe Mama
Is anyone else getting nervous? She doesn't seem to be progressing. When goats or sheep give birth, it's just a matter of a few minutes (at most) from the time the hooves appear until the baby is out. I realize she's neither goat nor sheep, but still...She's been like this for an hour!
Night Elf
I just read it can take up to two hours after the hooves present. Is it crazy that I don't want to close this window? What if I miss it? :)
Ewe Mama
Thanks for that info, Night Elf. I'll calm down a bit now. :) I'm sitting here crocheting a shrug to go with my daughter's Easter dress and I keep glancing at the computer to make sure I haven't missed it. You're in good company. :)

Night Elf
Aww.. every time it stands up it falls over. Poor little legs are splayed on the ground. I wonder how long it will take to get on its feet.

Do we know if it's a boy or girl? I walked away for about half an hour and it looks like a completely different baby.
