sassenach
California has 16 this year! :svengo: I spent nearly 2 hours working through them yesterday morning and I still have 7 to go. I'm tired, 'Merica. :patriot:
PrincessMommy
16 is a lot. We have 4, but 3 are specific to my county.
idnib
We spent 4 hours going through stuff this weekend (CA) and that was only for things we were undecided on. (Work included reading legislation, pro and con arguments, endorsements, letters to the paper, etc) It was lots of work and it's not done yet.

At lease Ca's website is well put together as a starting point. I have a couple that I will have to circle back around to because I just couldn't draw a conclusion. Stilo
We have 1 on the ballot. And it is non-binding on the local governmental unit. Not sure why they are bothering.

I have a couple that I will have to circle back around to because I just couldn't draw a conclusion. Yeah, I still have 4 I have a question mark near. I'm pretty well-decided, but will continue to research those 4 and watch for more letters in the paper to see what viewpoints I can find. I found ballotpedia to be easier to use than the state web site.
vonfirmath
28 just for our city. *sigh*
momacacia
Something like 6 and 1 or 2 constitutional amendments. It's because of expected voter turnout in a general election, especially presidential. It's still irritating. Lol.

TravelingChris
14 statewide constitutional amendments and 1 local amendment. Four of the statewide constitutional amendments are only about one county (and not my county) but all of us in the state are voting on the change. I think our state constitution is a real mess. Lady Florida.
Wow, that's a lot. Florida tends to go amendment crazy, amending the state constitution rather than just making new laws. There are 4 amendments and one local referendum (a 1/2 cent tax to clean up our lagoon) on this year's ballot.
Laura in CA
Done! with all 17. Whew! NYT has articles about 11 of them (links at bottom of page). I also used KQED's discussion of each proposition. NYT also gives 3 other places to read about them, including Ballotpedia (recommended upthread), but I'm tired ... umsami
Florida....just voted today....we had four where I live....solar panels, eliminating property taxes for permanently disabled first responders injured in the line of duty, property taxes being assessed on first value of home when bought for seniors, and slot machines. I just wrapped up yesterday. I ended up using ballotpedia and reading a lot of newspaper articles. I didn't know about KQED and YOU CAN'T MAKE ME GO BACK!   I'm done. I'm not reading one more thing about propositions. (I still have a county judge to figure out, blah.)

Farrar
One. Yes, I think we should be a state. No, I don't think Washington Douglass Commonwealth makes any kind of name sense. But whatever, I'm voting for. That nonsense can get worked out when we finally get the right to vote in, oh, a century or so...
Janeway
8. And our town had them carefully laid out on their site and it took me 5 minutes to go through them all and make decisions. I am grateful for that. People are talking about how not everywhere provides such good and clear information on the propositions.

And my dad called last week to discuss a few and I think I convinced him to agree with me on a couple.
ashfern
Looks like 4 (thanks for the info about Ballotpedia). I know that there is another specific to our county about keeping the 1 cent SPLOST (special purpose local option sales tax). They always threaten to raise the millage rate if that one goes away. The money goes to the county public schools.
myfunnybunch
One city One county 2-3 state Not too many, and I'd already researched and decided, so voting was easy. Can't remember exactly, though, since I already voted by mail. Actually, I got my ballot by mail but dropped it off in the elections dropbox since I was driving right by anyway. I love voting in my pj's, and dropping off. No lines!
