SKL
Ha ha! I think I'd just walk on by too! I used to deliver newspapers out in the Boone Docks as a kid. I had a few interesting decisions to make, but never over a bear. :)

Spryte
That's funny! DS wants to know how they left the note on the door if there was a bear there, though?

hornblower
The notice was left at a neighbouring house http://o.canada.com/news/oddities/canada-post-notice-518929 I haven't seen a bear yet this year in my neighbourhood but I did last summer, just a few houses down from me. fraidycat
I adore Canada and all its quirkiness. You mean like the day my Mom wouldn't let us walk out to the school bus because there was a big bull moose in the front yard between the house and the road? Doesn't everybody have wildlife stories like that?

Doesn't everybody have wildlife stories like that? I wouldn't let ds go outside because there was a coral snake on the front porch once. The only difference is my wildlife story ended with me chopping off the snake's head with a garden hoe. :scared:
Catwoman
    Oh, great. Now mail carriers everywhere are going to start using that lame excuse. ;)
Dory
Reminded me of my older brothers missing the bus because the wolves were fighting with the dog on the porch. Or the time the elk had taken over the lane way and they couldn't get down it. Or we had to spend most the night at my uncles because a cougar decided to camp out under our vehicle and we couldn't leave. lol always interesting wildlife stuff up here. KrissiK
Heehee! :) We've had raccoons at our back door the last couple of nights, but no bears!
ElizabethB
My family agreed it was a good excuse. However, they wanted pictures of the bear, not pictures of a boring piece of paper.
SemiSweet
My family agreed it was a good excuse. However, they wanted pictures of the bear, not pictures of a boring piece of paper. Us too! We lived in a high bear population area for awhile, they definitely make me want to go the other way too. :D
happi duck
Sigh. My current wildlife encounter is smelling skunk through the open window. Yes, that is as exciting as it sounds.
Lisbeth
I once banged on the locked back door because a *huge* swarm of bees was going through our backyard. My mom had just mopped the kitchen floor and said no, go around to the front...she thought I was freaking out over one bee. That's about it for my "wildlife" stories. :)

AmyontheFarm
I got a notice today from Canada Post to come pick up my package in town today also. Only it's because I have a lazy mail carrier who doesn't do any more than he has too. I miss my former mail carrier, she was so nice and sweet. The new guy is a cranky, old boot! fraidycat
. The new guy is a cranky, old boot! Pretty sure this is a requirement for working at CanadaPost and USPS!! It is very rare to find a nice friendly one so I make it a point to thank them for their friendliness when I do happen to encounter one.
