Math: TT6, LOF Fractions and Decimals and Percents Language Arts:R&S 5 for grammar, WWE 4 + additional writing with history and science, Spelling Power, Reading to go with History, Science and good classics I find. History: MOH 1 and SOTW 1 + Diana Waring CD's for ancients + LOTS of good lit, primary sources and Netflix to go along with what we are studying. Geography will be tied into history with mapping exercises. Science: Science Shepherd Life Science plus I have WAY to many supplements. Didn't realize how much I had bought until I had it all planned out. I don't know that we will finish it all in 5th- this may carry over into 6th. Spanish: Getting Started with Spanish and online supplements Latin: Getting Started with Latin once we finish GSWS and move onto something else for Spanish. Plus we have a Wednesday Charlotte Mason style co-op all day that does Poetry memorization, hymns, folk-songs, artist study, composer study, crafts, presentations and nature study so we will only do our other school work 4 days a week. She also plays volleyball and basketball. One is fall the other is Spring- she wants to join the swim team also. We will have to see how busy her schedule is. Swim does not start until November. We're still wrapping up Physics. Math: Teaching Textbooks, second half of 5 and then into 6; Family Math; mathy/living math books Grammar: Alternating Grammar Land and Sentence Family Writing: Brave Writer Lifestyle/Writer's Jungle, so basically writing across the curricculum; Unjournaling (for freewrite prompts) History: Using books from the What Your _ Grader Needs to Know to introduce history topics, then following rabbit trails with vintage books, documentaries, etc.; CNN Student News for current events Science: BFSU as a jumping off point, supplemented with the Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia, the Happy Scientist, documentaries, etc. Rabbit trails as desired! Language Arts: Shurley 6, Phonetic Zoo, IEW American History Based Writing Lessons, VP 5th grade lit, and various other supplements. History: VP Explorers - 1850 and SOTW 3 Not much of this overlaps so it may take up to 18 months to cover. Science: Anatomy and Forensics using Apologia's Anatomy and various materials from WinterPromise and SL. Bible: VP Gospels Art: Atelier Art 2 and 3 Music: Piano (if I can find a teacher) and Opal Wheeler composer study books Latin: finish Latin for Children B and start C Spanish: I don't know what resources I'll use, but we ARE starting Spanish this year. My kids haven't been keeping up with reading, math etc. this summer (my fault) and I have a feeling it isn't going to be a pleasant beginning.
