Liz CA
what did I miss? Jean is on her way to a pain specialist in St. Louis. She is traveling from the Pacific Northwest and it's a long way by car and plane - and she is always in some kind of pain and has low energy. Jean in Newcastle
Did I hear my name? :bigear: I made it. I successfully navigated the airplane stuff, the rental car stuff, and am now at my hotel. I am pretty tired though and am very glad that I took a direct flight. I go for my first day with the Dr. tomorrow. It feels really weird to be without my family. I am finding myself talking out loud for the reassuring noise:D Dh has taken the kids backpacking so I can't even call them. I hope that dd9 is doing all right. She was having a very hard time with me going away.

Liz CA
YES! So glad you made it and lived to tell about it. :D Get off the guilt trip now and enjoy a few hours to yourself. Can you go out for some bonbons or Ben & Jerry's? Well....this may distort any test results the doc may want to take tomorrow.

Jean in Newcastle
Aw, thanks everyone. I had a quiet steak dinner with strawberry iced tea and read a really good mystery. No ice cream and no booze. I know that one thing the doctor will ask me about tomorrow is my diet! Tomorrow is tests and talking with the doctor. He asked me to set aside Friday for treatment - if he thinks I'm healthy enough for it and if he thinks I need the kind of treatment they would give in one day (mostly iv therapy). Last time he did not think I was healthy enough. I hope I get concrete answers too but the doctor had told me that he thought I had multiple problems - he used the illustration of an onion with many layers. I do feel like he's dealt with at least one layer already because I have tons more stamina than I did last year though I still have pain. What is frozen concrete and why would I want it?:D
missmoe
It is a kind of frozen custard and it is to die for which is why you would want it. I personally love the Dotty! and can't wait to get one when back in STL later this year.

Chelle in MO
I'm glad you arrived safely! I can't believe you're here and I haven't met you yet! Speaking of that, I was wondering how we're going to recognize each other when we meet!? I seem to remember a photo thread a while back, but I can't find it. Did you post a photo in that? I didn't! Maybe I should show up wearing a kilt? :D How about I stand by the door holding my copy of WTM? Best wishes at the dr. tomorrow!
