Saille
I was just working on next year's book lists, and every. single. book. reads "currently unavailable" underneath. I'm assuming there's some kind of maintenance going on, but how creepy!
Soror
I was just getting that message as well- glad to hear it just isn't me I was starting to get worried!
Cinder
Yes, this just happened to us, too. Ds was checking on an order he placed a couple days ago and got the unavailable note. I don't think I've ever seen that on Amazon before. I agree--creepy. Cinder
Giraffe
I think the whole web site is having problems. I can't get it to load anything.
Hathersage
I have had that happen before, last time it cleared up a few hours later. I can't even get onto my wishlist.

Nicole M
This is just end-of-the-world category of shocking. I've been an amazon customer for a quarter of my life, and only once did they have a problem on their site that I can remember. I mean, Amazon just does not go down! ETA: I just went over to the site. My shopping cart is empty! 872 items, gone! :willy_nilly: Edited June 29, 2010 by Nicole M
Starr
If Amazon goes how can we order our stock pile food and water??
Quiver0f10
ACK my shopping cart is empty! I had a long list of books in there. I hope it is a fluke. Hmm maybe it's my DH
DianeW88
I just read that Amazon NETS $29,000 per MINUTE. A large chunk of that comes from me. :glare: Anyway.....they should be able to afford good tech support with that kind of revenue. Don't you think??? MtnTeaching
They are definitely still having problems on the site. I hope this is a fluke, also. I had most of my books for our middle ages study in my wishlist and was hoping to buy them next month. Now, pretty much all of them read "title no longer available." ourjourneys
This shows us how much we as humans rely on these little boxes that plug into the wall called computers :) I think about this often: What would we do without them? Maybe play with the kids and garden a little more.

Hathersage
Something like this ALWAYS happens when I'm lusting after an item that I am sooo close to buying. Now is a sign that I shouldn't buy it, or buy it immediately after Amazon is back up and running?
KrissiK
I was just on Amazon and it's all screwed up! One second I have 5 things in my cart, I go to my cart and all the sudden it's empty. I'm glad it's not just me!

Hathersage
At 12:47 PM PST, Amazon posted on the Seller announcement board there were site latencies: We are currently experiencing an issue that is impacting customers' ability to place orders on the Amazon.com website. We are working to correct the issue and will continue to provide updates until service has been restored. Nicole M
I'm there! Errr....*here*! Hello, my name is Nicole, and I am addicted to Amazon. When Amazon left me that afternoon of June 2010, which happens to be my wedding anniversary, but who cares about that in the face of this trauma... well, it was like the bottom just fell out. I don't know who I am any more. I need to know that those 872 items are still saved for later. I don't know how I can cope in a world without Amazon.... nono
Regarding wish lists and carts, it would have to be an unprecedented group of errors to not be able to lift these from back-up. That, however, is not done with a magic wand, so it'll take a bit of time. Believe me, as long as it seems to you, it feels like dog years passing to the folks scrambling to bring everything back. BridgeTea
Wow, Amazon's a mess right now. I went to look at the items in my cart and several had been sucked right out of there. The more I poked around trying to add items back in, the more things disappeared! I stopped poking around when I only had 4 items left. I felt like I was at a casino or something! :001_huh:

elegantlion
Good thing I placed an order yesterday, otherwise I'd be a little twitchy with anxiety. :001_huh: I noticed that today when someone linked an Amazon item. I thought it was odd they linked an not available for purchase item. I have over 125 items in the saved part of my cart. That's a large portion of my future curriculum list that is not compiled elsewhere. :001_huh: Really I'm fine...I'm not feeling faint...I'm sure they'll get this fixed quickly. Oh, I need to sit down now. Wait I am.:lol:
Satori
My saved cart went from hundreds of items to just 100 (if the site works. I'm staying away now! As a former web programmer (who drank beers with Amazon folks), they should really just pull the site down until it's totally fixed. This is scary!
