babysparkler
What would you like to have? My inlaws want to get me a subscription for Christmas ... what would you suggest? I already have Parents and Guideposts. Are there any good homeschooling or education magazines out there?
BikeBookBread
I get Cook's Illustrated, Fine Cooking and Crochet. My dh gets some cycling mags and self-sufficiency ones (I think Backwoods Home, Mother Earth News, etc.) We'd like to get Modern Reformation, I'd like to get a better crochet mag (something more modern) and re-up our Tabletalk which we let lapse. ETA: Aaack! I did it again...just read without seeing what you WANTED TO GET info on. Sorry! I really like The Old Schoolhouse magazine but don't subscribe currently. I foresee getting it next year, when we are beyond kinder. Another mag that my dh likes a lot is Home Education Magazine. Orthodox6
Our cousins have given us "The Smithsonian Magazine" for two years now. Each member of our family has found something of great interest from the issues. For the children, just about anything from the Cricket publishers of magazines makes a wonderful school supplement. http://www.cricketmag.com/home.asp
abbeyej
Family Fun is one that I like. Very light, but sometimes simple crafts or activities for family bonding. We've gotten some cute ideas from it. :)
rwjx2khsmj
I love Family Fun. I think I've been getting it for 10 years and have a subscription paid for at least 3 more years. I also love Real Simple. I haven't subscribed yet but I look through it in the library each month.

danybug
We get World magazine, which I describe as a Christian version of Time magazine for us. I really enjoy this magazine as our news magazine and am pleased with the breadth of topics. I just subscribed to Homeschooling Today, because I always enjoy reading the library copy. And I get the Racheal Ray magazine, but I do not think I am going to renew it. I never really use any of the recipes in it as they often have ingredient lists that are just too long for me. Kate in Arabia
I get Cooks Illustrated, Saudi Aramco World and Archaeology Magazine. Also, my mom buys me a Southern Living subscription every year as a gift, which I love getting over here. For anyone interested in Middle East history and culture, I highly recommend Aramco World, and it's a free subscription! http://www.saudiaramcoworld.com/issue/200905/
Calm37
We really love World, too. It is biweekly and is written from an evangelical Christian persuasion. There are lots of short news stories and movie reviews in the front which my older two read. I like the longer articles and editorials. Quiver0f10
I just renewed my subscription to countryside magazine. I'd like to get Homeschooling Today.
ladydusk
I get Cook's Illustrated, too, but I just read it and rarely use the magazine recipes. And Everyday Food but I use many of these recipes ... easy and tasty. I'd love to get Homeschooling Today and often pick up a copy at my local bookstore (but it is pricey!) I like both of them quite a bit. My kids have been given as gifts: High Five (the younger Highlights) My Big Backyard National Geographic Kids and they love all of them. creekland
We get: World (love it) Reminisce (real stories of the 'old days' - love it too) Nutrition Action (great for keeping up on health issues) Sail (sailboats) Ocean Navigator (both of these are hubby's) Popular Science (fun) Answers (Creation updates) and get National Geographic passed down from my in-laws so we have no need to subscribe to that, but do get to read it. Someday I'm going to re-subscribe to Reader's Digest - I miss the jokes!

1bassoon
Chiming in late - but we've had World for over 12 years - it's absolutely the best! It's our only subscription, and the kids routinely fight me for it. They do sell a kid's version - sorta like "Weekly Reader", which we got for a time and enjoyed. HTH!
