Happy Groundhog’s Day/ Candlemas (no, really, it’s time to take down Christmas decorations and also commemorate the Presentation in the Temple) day.  It’s also feast day of St. Brigid and that one saint who saved people from choking on fish bones.

St Blaise is 2/3 on the Catholic calendar. Candlemas is 2/2.

@Terabith, can you explain the Valentine's Day one?

This year, Valentine's Day is also Ash Wednesday.  So if you're a pastor in a liturgical church, what you'll be doing on Valentine's Day is rubbing dirt (well, really, ashes) on people's foreheads and reminding them of their mortality.

I was raised Catholic and didn't get it. I think because a female answered the question in the meme I didn't equate it with a priest's actions.

Ahh, I can see that.  I've attended Episcopal and ELCA Lutheran churches my adult life, often with women priests, so I didn't have that block.  Sorry about the confusion!

Lay ministers, male or female, can distribute ashes in Catholic Churches.

I actually think about this a weird amount.

US road traffic accidents dwarf other countries'. Multiple factors but designing for cars to move as fast as possible through built up areas at the expense of pedestrians is a major one.
