Getting up vs getting down are two very different things in my book.

I get down to old funk.  We sit around a table, chatting, and drinking 'tinis or a beer.

I get up to dancing funk.  There is no sitting around or down, when dancing funk is playing!

"Get down" is what I do when the police tell me to. Or what I yell at the children when they walk on the counters.

Get up is what I'm thankful to be able to do every morning.

So, it must be C. It's always C.   Although Word Nerd has a compelling case.

RP, the first sentence had me a bit worried. The second helped me realize you are still within the range of "normal." (which is understood to be a VERY wide range...)

Get on it...hmmm, I'll need to find something for you...

after I get some homework done.

I had quite a few thoughts go through my head as I watched this video - gotta love those Soul Train shows.

Hmmm, saw the beginnings of many dances.

Comparing those dances with those of today inspired the same question: "What in the world are they doing?"

It also brought to mind a picture of my mother and I when I was about a year old. Both of us had big, beautiful afros.

Wow, the Downocrats are way in the lead. Impressive. As I was explaining the poll results to dd15, who has known me all her life, she had the audacity to ask, "What exactly does it mean to get down?"

I was shocked into speechlessness for a moment. I finally asked her, "Whose child are you?"

I think the Prancercize lady stole her moves from the lady in the yellow pants.

I must admit that by 1975 my hair had reached such extraordinary volumes that all brushes and combs were pretty much useless to me, so I relied on my fingers until my friend Charles King—empathizing with my plight—gave me a gift of a black plastic-tined Afro Pick topped with a fist.

Used that pick for years :D

I have a small one, but only because my hair stopped growing. :( I've seen some big ones around here, but alas, it does not seem to be making a huge comeback.
