Oh great. Just what I need. A popularity contest. Well, at least I have a long history in being a loser, so I won't be disappointed!

:iagree: Being able to rate topics was bad enough, but being able to rate people? Ugh. Like internet-based interactions aren't shallow enough as it is.

ETA: And I mean that I agree with not liking the rating system, not that you're a loser. Because you're not. ;)

Oh no! I accidentally clicked on the stars (touchscreen, grrr...) and couldn't figure out how to unclick, so I left that poor boardie with a 1 star rating. I didn't know they were popularity points. Sorry to whoever I insulted.

- Off to go give stars to random people to attone for my sins.

Hmmm...just looked at my profile and found that I have no stars and no friends. Talking myself out of taking this personally. :scared:

ETA: I did just notice for the first time that you can rate threads by giving them stars. I gave this thread 5 stars. :D As of right now, it has 6 votes.

My two cents is that none of it matters. All it means is that someone might have been bored one day and decided to rate a member or a thread. As far as the green bar and numbers, my understanding is that it is partly from the old rep system (which is why some old people have higher numbers ) and partly from posts that are "liked" on the forum. Again - no real meaning.

Well, I have 5 pretty grey stars. I guess that is the equivalent of none. :toetap05:

The good news is that I have an "Excellent" rating of 118! Whatever that means. :tongue_smilie:

I have no stars as well. I'm trying to stay under the radar, so I guess that means I'm dong a good job! :tongue_smilie:

As for the rating, I am still clueless on that. I thought it had something to do with buyer/seller feedback, but I went from a "10" at the changeover to a "12" and I have only made some posts. Maybe it has to do with our post count??

The number in the green box has to do with people clicking the "Like" button on posts you make. We all started out with the same number (10?) with the exception of people who were here on the old boards and had already accumulated "likes."

Ah! Thanks for explaining it.

You now have a higher 'green box' number. :coolgleamA:
