S/O Did your child(ren) attend school before you homeschooled them?

DS#1 did preschool for one year than public school for K and 1st. He started HS this year for 2nd.

 

DS#2 and 3 will attend or are attending the same preschool but will be homeschooled after that for K+.

DD#1- attended private preschool, then PS K-3rd, dual enrollment homeschooling all but LA for second half of 4th and first half of 5th before homschooling full time

 

DD#2-PS for early on classroom (for speech delay) and MSRP, homescooled since K

I voted Yes public school. I was in ps from K-6th grade and from 7th to my current grade I have been homeschooled and plan on finishing high school next year.

Both have done 2 years of preschool (2-3 days/wk for 4 hours/day). I have no plans to ever send either to a traditional school at this point in time.

I took older dd out of a Christian school during Easter break of first grade.

 

Younger dd never went to school (except for a year when she was 14 and I was teaching in a little one-room school; she said it wasn't fair--she had always wanted to go to school, and when she did, I was still her teacher :lol: ).

Everyone is asking when DS4 is going to start kindergarten. They don't realize that we have officially started homeschooling this year and that we have no plans to send him to school!

My oldest two went to public school through 2nd and 3rd grade. This is our 16th year at home.

Mine were home schooled from the beginning, but went to school for part of last school year. Had we stayed in FL they would likely have stayed in school, but we moved here and ps is simply not an option in our city.

 

Whether we continue to homeschool depends on many different factors, but if they go it would have to be somewhere other than here.;)

Preschool (which they do love--a lady in our church runs it and they adore her), and then my oldest had 7 days in a charter school. The school had a fabulous charter/idea, but in reality it did not work with the current structure.

We homeschooled from the beginning. Two of mine have ended up heading to school for high school.

The oldest briefly attended a private school (and preschool). The middle attended preschool but homeschooled from K forward. The youngest will have been strictly homeschooled.

I voted other because 3 of mine went to preschool, my oldest 2 went to public school until 4 th and 1st grades respectively. The oldest ones have gone or are going to college. My youngest 4 have never been to school...except my 17 yo has taken outside of the home classes.

My eldest went to kindergarten just because we felt like we should try it before turning our backs. Dumb idea. 100% homeschooled after that for all my kids.

My son attended public Kindergarten, and that was all I could take of the system. He didn't do poorly by any means, but I could see how the public education system had changed greatly since I was a child, and I didn't want the current system for my son.

My oldest dd went to public kindie, private 1st. Homeschool the rest of the way. I would like to keep the other two out of school completely, which has worked so far. ;)

My kids attended a private Montessori school after it received a charter from the state sort of making it a public school....but not really. I voted other.

DS: K-3

Little DD: K-3 (She's currently in 3rd and will come home for 4th)

Yes, the oldest attended a Christian school for first grade. None of the others ever did attend school nor did my son attend school after first grade.

I learned about homeschooling, and that it was legal, while ds15 was in Kindergarten. We took him out halfway through. The only time we tried to put him back in was during 4th grade and he lasted 11 days. :D

 

Dd13 didn't start in public school but she did attempt it once a year from 2nd grade through 5th grade. That was when I put my foot down and she's never stepped foot in a school since then.
