  1. when I was in public school high school each paid their own expenses--girl paid for dress/shoes/etc....guy paid for his suit and the flowers for the girl.....when I was a kid there was no charge to get "into" the event-if they went out to eat afterwards,it could be split between the two or guy paid all....
  2. got mine a few weeks ago at a local pharmacy....whenever I can get the hubby in to get his he will get it there too..... They also have the flu mist that my son usually gets at his pediatrician's office....we will probably stick with the pediatrician because my son in comfortable with it.....if he wants to switch to pharmacy we might go there--depends....
  3. I think it was an American Standard....husband replaced the one in his dad's bathroom about 1-2 yrs ago......no problems with it as far as I know.....
  4. My aspie is 12 1/2....agree with therapist and routine.....works wonders...still has his fixations and odd behaviours at times....it is not easy....hang in there
  5. this is my son....he hates writing-told him to write out a Christmas list a few days ago and he hooked the printer up to his computer and printed it out....LOL
  6. depends on how big the issue is...meaning can it hurt my kid....Zac has had a lot of quirky behaviors.....lately I've caught him pulling his eyebrows out....I really really try to get him to stop it but still I catch him doing it....he doesn't like to eat with his hands -that's a big issue with me.....I try and pick my battles....

I'm upgrading my Kindle soon and when it comes in I thought I'd give my old kindle to my son-I've been wanting to get him one anyway so this is a win-win situation.....I know there are good educational apps and games out there...but what do you use? How do you use your kindle in your homeschooling???? Would love to hear what everyone does......

  10. we get ours yearly--my son 11 gets the flu-mist (squirt up the nose) and the rest of us get shots....both ds and I got ours done last week-hoping to get grandpa and dh into the pharmacy to get theirs done today

  14. great to hear from all the other posters---my 11 yr old is in this stage and I try soooo hard to get him to do something else....he likes editing videos and was into minecraft big time but has since lost most interest in that....I too try to look at the positive but sometimes it's sooooo hard.....I'm hoping it'll turn into a lucrative career for him one day
  15. I think after 7-8th grade it was an elective or sport....that's the last grades I remember taking PE.....
  16. we use ones called ASSURANCE WIPES and get them at Walmart near the adult diapers and such.....about $4 for a pack of 50.....
  17. it's hard.....find support groups in your area....learn as much as you can....and if you have family get a support line there-dh and I are overseeing his dad and it is sooo hard-we have NO support from the other family.......
  18. was "little miss perfect" always wanting that A......didn't really have to study a lot it just came naturally to me-I definitely could have done better if I had pushed myself harder but I still ended up in the top 10% of my class with a 3.9GPA
  19. for older kids yes I think they are a good idea...for my son when we had one in his room it made me nervous that he would fall off (even with the railing)....
  20. write (and be paid for it) travel have an always clean and tidy house have a large amount of land where I could have a little "commune" for select friends and family
