LittleIzumi
Of course! Although here it was for balance. We have food allergies here and dd who is allergic to dairy ended up with much less than her sister. We took the extra so they'd have the same amount. Mommy tax

YourFidgetyFriend
My kid doesn't like chocolate and I kind of live for it. I ate so much chocolate the first two days, I had to throw the rest away for fear that I may gain 300 lbs before Thanksgiving.
DaffodilDreams
I'm bummed all the bit o honeys are gone. I forgot about those! We - I mean, dd - didn't get a single piece of bit o honey this year.
Jennifer in MI
WAIT!? You all STILL have candy from Halloween????? I'm impressed!!!!! I had to steal and eat all mine in one night.
Joy at Home
All the good stuff is gone. When I'm really desperate I can pick through and find something non-chocolate that's tolerable.

MaryCatherine
My oldest dd said to me a couple of years ago, "Mom, did you know that they make dark milky ways?" She was really excited - she thought they were great!! I had to admit that yes, they've been around for years, and I that I ate them all, every year. Dawn in OH
It's not pilfering, it's random safety/freshness testing. :)
pdalley
:glare: They ate all the good chocolate before I could pilfer it! The nerve of those kids.....
kristavws
I just took the last bite of a Baby Ruth bar from the Halloween candy when I opened this thread. My kids know that all Baby Ruths belong to me, and all Hershey Bars belong to my dh. It is our fee for taking them :D . Krista
Kirch
Pilfer, schmilfer. That's payment for taking them to the fall festivals. :D
Chris in VA
Considering that it's the only economic contribution my dc make to the family all year, you betcha I ate some! But I asked, first. Except for that one time...:D

radiobrain
Luckily, neither of my kids like chocolate, so I make out like a bandit! :D And it has been completely consumed as of Nov. 2nd....:001_huh:
GraciebytheBay
Hey, I did very well for about four days. Then I wandered in for all the fruity tootsie rolls (it's fruit, right?). At the one week mark, I began to lose all sense of propriety and hoovered the Whoppers. Today it was the plain Hershey's, which I don't even really like. Geesh, can't these kids eat faster?? radiobrain
At the one week mark, I began to lose all sense of propriety and hoovered the Whoppers. You know you have a problem when you resort to Whoppers. :tongue_smilie:

LauraGB
You know you did! Duh. :001_rolleyes: I did offer to buy them out of the whole Trick or Treating thing this year, but they declined. Oh, well.
OrganicAnn
Me. My DH caught me, but my DD hasn't. I've asked her a couple of times for a piece and she always happily gives me one (she is so sweet). Of course since I walked to each house with her, I think I 'earned' it. Truscifi
Me! Although he had slim pickings this year, so I had to go buy a bag at the after Halloween sale. DH and I ate too much.
GraciebytheBay
You know you have a problem when you resort to Whoppers. :tongue_smilie: I KNOW!!! That's exactly what I said as I was greedily gathering them up. Of course, there is a reason they were still left when there were no Reece cups, Snickers or M&Ms to be found. I think we've come up with ther next slogan: Whoppers: They will always be there for you!:001_smile:
Gratia271
You know you did! I had to because I cannot allow them to eat that toxic garbarge. It is my duty as a responsible parent....:lol::lol:
silliness7
My kids have to "pay" me in chocolate for each candy wrapper or lollipop stick left on the floor that I have to bend over and throw away. It takes a day or two of this before they really catch onto the concept... THROW YOUR WRAPPERS IN THE TRASH! And I always end up with a tidy sum of chocolate. We have the same problem in the summer with popsicles. But I'm not really a popsicle fan. I just stop buying them. They haven't really caught on to the cause and effect of that yet. :glare:
lisabelle
I buy *more* than enough chocolate for the trick-or-treaters...that way I don't have to raid ds's stash!
ahousefullofjs
Yep, it's called redistribution of wealth.
wapiti
Well, no nuts are allowed here due to ds's peanut allergy. Someone had to eat all that nut-contaminated stuff. Actually, there was so much that dh took it to his office, but I still kept a small secret stash, mostly butterfingers and almond joys ;). That's all gone now and yes, I am resorting to pilfering from the kids after they're in bed. I just ate one of those fun-size snickers - would it not make sense to do ab exercises right now to make up for it? :tongue_smilie: (as in, Ab Ripper X, which I haven't done in months! but the tummy bulge is growing!! don't tell DH)
HollyB
We only let them get candy from a few houses on our street, but they still had quite a bit. I offered to pay them each $1 for almost half of their candy. I can't believe they agreed! "Wow! Mom gave me a whole dollar!" It won't be as easy next year. Shawneinfl
The day after, I pulled out my food sealer and sealed the tons of candy up in little bags to slow the consumption. After finding they were still sneaking candy, I locked it all in dad's file cabinet. Now dad is the only pilferer and the kids have mostly forgotten about it...all except the 17 year old who posted on facebook that her mom had the nerve to seal up all the candy. :glare:

QuirkyKapers
My kids candy was quickly diminishing thanks to, u hum, me. In fact, I think I have eaten more of their candy than they have. You know, as an adult, life has much more stress so naturally we need more chocolate;)
