Cindy in C-ville
In VA we have an amazing view. I thought it was going to be cloudy tonight, but NO! :) The kids even just saw a shooting star. Wow! What are you seeing? :) Cindy

Amy loves Bud
The clouds are passing by, and we are getting peeks in between them (North of Dallas). We just got a really good look at it almost completely orange, with a sliver of bright white on the top. Then more clouds. The clouds are moving quickly, so we should get a few more good looks before bed.
Stirsmommy
We are have really clear skies tonight. A perfect night for skywatching. Well from the window at least we would be people pops in 15 minutes if we were outside!

pianoplayer
We have a great view in N VA. The kids are outside now, trying to get some good pictures of "their" eclipse. :) My son also has his star chart out and is trying to identify the various stars & planets that are visible. Angela in TN
Just went outside here in TN and the view is awesome, too bad the kids are asleep! :)
1bassoon
Just got in from running an errand - I glimpsed the moon - reddish-brown here - when it peeked behind the clouds for a second. When I went in to get dd 15 to show her (everyone else was asleep!), it was gone. :( Do you know the story about Columbus and the lunar eclipse? mcconnellboys
Great view of the moon, Saturn and Regulus(?).... We even saw this weird, double red light appear in the vicinity of Saturn and drop straight down the sky (spy satellite debris???? I don't know.....) Ali in OR
Clear skies in Oregon! That is quite rare on a winter night. We have enjoyed watching this eclipse. We did not wake up our youngest last August for the 4:00 am eclipse, so this is her first. She keeps saying, "your first eclipse is always the best!". The shadow is slowly lifting now. Very cool! godpoetry
It was cloudy but we finally got to see it. yeah! We are near you, Heather in Birmingham, Alabama. Waving hello.:)
Staci in MO
I forgot about it until ten o'clock. I thought about letting it go, but I decided to wake the kids up so they could see it. I don't think I'll ever forget their expressions when I went in their rooms and said, "Hey, do you want to go see the moon?" We missed the full eclipse, but it was still about 2/3. Still fun. Audrey
It is very clear out tonight. We have a great view from the window. Dh also set up the telescope, but it was soooooo cold and windy we couldn't manage to do more take a quick peek each.
TCoppock
Down in South Florida it was really cloudy. We did get a few short peaks but that was enough for my DS to be excited.
RegularMom
I managed to snap a few decent pictures of the eclipse. Yes, I'm really enjoying my new camera. :) http://regularmom.wordpress.com/2008/02/21/theres-always-the-moon/
Elisabeth in IL
:) The kids even just saw a shooting star. Wow! I believe we saw that shooting star too!!! My middle one said, "Hey mom did you see that shotting star?" The oldest missed it. It was a very cold (6 degrees) but clear night out here. We had to limit our time to a couple of minutes outside then 10-15 minutes inside before heading back out to check the progress.
nancypants
In VA we have an amazing view. I thought it was going to be cloudy tonight, but NO! :) The kids even just saw a shooting star. Wow! What are you seeing? :) Cindy We went up on a hill and watched it all together. Beautiful clear night. I took pictures of the whole thing (well, until it was fully covered... after that we had to head home and get people in bed.) Fun! The kids thought it was so cool. Mama Lynx
Generally, when anything astronomical happens, we have clouds. This is a first. It was beautiful!
Colleen
I posted to another thread and mentioned that after several lovely days, the clouds were rolling in. Fortunately the skies cleared in the evening so we had great viewing here! I was somewhat disappointed, though. The lunar ecplise last year (summer, I think?) was much more stunning. That one occured in the dead of night, our time, so my boys missed it. They did enjoy this one, but it just seemed less spectacular to me than the last. Blue Hen
First snow of the season fell here last night so we saw nothing. ugh, wish Mother Nature had done a bit better planning. Carole, DE
PrairieAir
I was so excited about seeing the eclipse. I was going to get my butt out there and take pictures even though it was freezing cold yesterday. (Nasty, nasty wind!) Sadly, no moon in sight. We woke up this morning to freezing rain and a good cover of ice on the ground. The older kids have a 2 hour delay:(
Jennifer in MI
We had a beautiful view right outside my sons' bedroom. We sat up and watched most of it! (Well, I came in from time to time, because it happened at the same time as American Idol!! LOL)
WTMindy
right out our window. And, the best part was that it was all over *before* American Idol.
Cindy in C-ville
We were freezing in blankets in our front yard, but it was worth it. Sorry for those who were clouded over! Maybe in 2010. :) Cindy
