I found this interesting art site called Retropolis. The art is like a yesteryear version of the future. I ordered and received a nice t-shirt for my astronomy loving dd.

For any Latin fans, we've been chuckling today in the Jokes & Memes thread about this Julius Caesar Ides of March pencil holder.

Very nifty! I saw the posters they sold via Zazzle, but I didn't see t-shirts. What did I miss?

I was admiring that earlier and hoping you'd post it here as well.  I looked for the Errare humanum est eraser you mentioned but could only find it on British and Canadian sites. I did however find a mug and a t-shirt.

When my daughter visited recently, she wore an old t-shirt that was similar to this one.

Just click on the poster that says "tshirts from the world of tomorrow"

Here is a direct link for others like me who overlook the obvious. Those are nifty shirts!

This page has some "glass half full shirts" that I had my eye on.

From a different site: I like this one!

Sample set of unique unisex fragrances:

https://imaginaryauthors.com/products/short-story-collection-1

Do you favor a particular fragrance, happi duck? I read the description of A WHIFF OF WAFFLECONE, and it stated "Imaginary Authors developed this scent exclusively for Salt & Straw, a pioneering ice cream brand based in Portland, Oregon with outposts across the country."

I'd never heard of that brand until my sister sent me a three month subscription a couple of years ago. A fun coincidence!

I gave these as a gift.  The recipient likes unusual fragrances!

Weird things I've bought on Etsy:

For my crime show fan: https://www.etsy.com/listing/871106120/this-is-where-i-murder-vegetables-glass

Caffeine molecule mug: https://www.etsy.com/listing/656862843/caffeine-molecule-coffee-mug

I'm making a box of "pimp my ride" accessories for my teen who has been reluctant to drive:

D&D decal: https://www.etsy.com/listing/931694526/dungeons-and-dragons-if-you-can-read

Portal keychain: https://www.etsy.com/listing/889676294/campanion-cube-keychain-portal-inspired

I will probably add one of those Eject cigarette lighters from last year's list. I am theoretically done with Christmas shopping, but I would not be averse to adding more to this box if I saw something she would love. I just want to make the car an enjoyable space for her, so she doesn't dread her driving lessons. Her birthday is a few days before Christmas, so I will put the box with the birthday stuff.

My DH begged for this Star Wars paint by number set:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y5R3M5R

He worked for universities for over a decade, so we usually all had a 2-3 week break at Christmas and fell into the habit of doing more elaborate paint by number kits each holiday season. If we have a houseguest for the holidays, they also get a set.

My (pig UFO) paint by number kit took one month to arrive:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Z384YG6

We also got the kids video game themed face masks, like this Stardew Valley one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0919M1348

What a fun thing to do together!

Thanks for posting all the links. Sending good thoughts for your daughter when she begins her driving lessons.

Kareni

Speaking of Salt and Straw....they ship nationally: https://saltandstraw.com/collections/shop-all?g_network=g&g_adid=478083810643&g_keyword=salt n straw delivery&g_acctid=707-497-5162&g_adtype=search&g_adgroupid=93286830614&g_keywordid=kwd-946213208367&g_campaign=Search+-+Brand+-+US&g_campaignid=9330332531&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8eOLBhC1ARIsAOzx5cGSriGbLUQvf-oDf6qSXycU-lc8uNnQBZ-3TOzzqZKilJ4mekgbvFQaAiRbEALw_wcB

Pear and blue cheese is one of my favorites; so is goat cheese marionberry habanero. Of the vegan flavors, the boysenberry oat milk sherbet is good. 🙂 I'm really lucky that they are local.

Oooh, I might get this.  We had a Fauci and a 2020 dumpster fire ornament set on the tree last year.

We gift our DC(ya) ornaments to represent the year.  I almost did the dumpster fire one last year!  (We decided to go with a major event from early March instead.)

With pandemic Christmas 2, I decided we couldn't avoid a covid theme this year!

I had a quarantree last year. I set it up in October with a toilet paper garland, hung masks from it, and ornaments.  The tree was 20 years old (fake), and had broken branches and otherwise would have long been in the trash bin, but it was the perfect tree for last year.

We have a new one this year, so I'm back to decorating more subtly.

I had posted this previously, but I'll mention it again here as it's a unique gift.

I ordered a personalized pillow cover for my daughter. It has nine locations embroidered on it: her birthplace, places we used to camp, the place we moved to when she was eleven, a town in Italy she visited with her high school Latin group, her college town, the location of her study abroad in NZ, and the city in South Korea where she now lives. It will be a total surprise, and I think she'll like it. This is the fourth order I've placed with this vendor; I've been pleased with her work. If interested, it's HillaryMasonDesigns.

Building block waffle maker! My DS would love this (ofc the plug is  the wrong type for his country, alas).

https://www.uncommongoods.com/product/building-brick-waffle-maker

That does look like great fun, @MEmama, and now you have me wondering in what country your son resides.

[Your post led me to think of non-electrical waffle irons and reminded me of this one which unfortunately is unavailable.]

That is *awesome*!
DS is in university in Ireland. He’s studying CS and would totally get a kick out of the one you linked. 🙂

If you have someone in your life who loves birding AND heavy-metal, I found the perfect gift for them!

https://www.birdcollective.com/products/butcherbird-tee

DS16 has let me know that he needs more birding t-shirts. It seems like the easiest way for him to meet people he shares interests with.

Probably you all have already seen the Birds Aren't Real site? They have some items I don't remember from last year, like the Christmas sweater (scroll down on the page), and socks!

Some more clever clocks -

Sonar Clock

Bird Song Alarm Clock

Word Clock, Sharper Image is out of business, right? It just lives on in this clock?

Albert Clock, this one comes with 6 levels of arithmetic difficulty. At that price, though, I want it to just tell me the time with no work on my part, and maybe hand me some chocolate!

Story Clock, if I understand it correctly, this can be a clock, a timer, and a stopwatch using your smartphone as an interface. Of course your smartphone probably also has clock, timer and stopwatch features - but no levitating ball!

I think this may be the link you intended. That is nifty indeed! And, if you find a clock that hands out chocolate, please let me know.
