My Navy kid is about to be deployed

And won't have a shipping address😪. Can't send him a Christmas or birthday gift😢.  As if deployment isn't hard enough on a Navy mom.😭.  He believes he'll have internet to keep in contact🙄.  He did enlist for the adventure so I am all the feels......happy ,sad, anxious and proud

Having a shipping address did not help my Navy daughter's package to arrive in time.  Mailed early November.  Received January of following year.  She was in the Persian Gulf at time of mailing.  Deployment is certainly stressful on mommas; when a sailor fell overboard, I could barely sleep until identity of person was released.  It is indeed an adventure .... maybe not the one expected but an adventure nonetheless.  I hope he can occasionally contact you when in port.

That is very hard.  I hope has internet access so you can keep in touch.  I think of military moms often when I feel sad about my kids being *far away* for school and jobs - having deployed kids must be so much more difficult and stressful!  Big hugs to you.

Hugs to you! My son and his wife are moving them and their kids hundreds of miles away. I'm so sad I can hardly stand it so I sort of know where you are coming from. At least we can still text and e-mail. I do hope there will be some way for you to connect over this time.💗

((Hugs)) It IS all the feels. Is the no shipping address a permanent thing? Is that because he’s on a ship? I’m utterly clueless about the Navy.

I was planning on buying dd a bunch of kindle books and downloadable movies when she deploys. There's so little storage in a coffin rack that physical items may not fit anyway.

If he doesn't have a Switch and likes to game, I'd give him one as a Birthday/Christmas/Bon Voyage gift.

I came into this thread to thank your son for serving . . . and for the sacrifices you are making now.  We are grateful.
