DawnM
I could never win this one. Our cars never have low mileage. Our 2004 Sequoia has about 165,000 miles on it We got rid of a 2002 Saturn VUE with 100K miles (roughly). Although when the electrical panel went out in 2008 and was replaced, I think it set the odometer back about 25,000 miles. Currently we have two 2014s, one has 55,000 miles and the other has 25,0000 miles (the one with 25K miles we just bought a few weeks ago, but give me a year or two and I can get it up to speed with the other one! HA)
Rachel
I have a '64 Scout, with 28,000 miles on it. My dad drives a Scout and my mom has a "fancy" one for off roading. Do you go to Scout round ups? They went to a couple in CO 10-15 years ago.
Audrey
I still have the first car I bought on my own. It's a 1984 Ford Bronco II. It has the original engine, but got a new tranny in '98. It has over 600K miles on it. It's mostly a farm vehicle now, and doesn't see the kind of action it used to, but we do use it to tow stuff and for running around the farm and for local errands to haul grubby stuff. The interior is kind of crap, but that thing is still fun to drive. Edited January 22, 2017 by Audrey
Kassia
We have a 2008 Dodge Caliber with just over 30,000 miles on it. We always drive our cars until the repairs are just too much for us, but we've never been fortunate enough to get to 100,000 miles on any of our vehicles. DH thinks it's because we live in the snow belt and the salt ruins the cars? I don't know.
foxbridgeacademy
1996 Mercury Grand Marquis that I just gave back to my dad, it had just under 120,000 Our 2014 Ford Focus has 46,000 miles on it and the 2012 leaf has 11,500, but electric cars probably shouldn't count. We can't actually take it out of town due to the lack of fast charge stations near us.
GailV
2003 Malibu just turned over 50,000. About 30,000 of that has been since we got it a couple of years ago -- before that it was sitting in the driveway of a little old lady who didn't drive but hadn't bothered to sell it. RegGuheert
Anyone? I think I have a couple of contenders. I have a 2003 van with 96000 miles. That's low isn't it, for 14 years? And I have a 2012 with 12,200 miles. 5 years old? We have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid which we bought in April 2002 with 104,000 miles on it. That's pretty close to your 2003 van depending on which month you bought it. But a 2012 with only 12,200 miles? Can't touch that!
PrairieSong
2004 with 178,000+ miles. I thought that was a lot until I read this thread. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
Rachel
Ours has a pretty bad shimmy, so doesn't get driven very far. It's a 3 speed, but built before the days of synchro. You have to double clutch. The girls used to take it as their kayak vehicle until I gave them the old minivan. It has a vacuum wiper, but the driver's is a tee off the main tube. So, if you run the passenger side, the driver's side goes half speed. It has a wired-in spotlight for checking cattle at night. It leaks like a sieve--it's like driving a screen porch! Ha! That sounds like the first Scout my dad had. He owned 5 or 6 at one point. Some were for parts since you can't get them anymore.

I'm not sure what salt might do, besides cause rust on the body?
Ewe Mama
We acquired a Ciera station wagon last year from Joy's godmother. It is a 1997 and only had 33,000 miles, but I'm not sure what the mileage is now. Perhaps around 45,000.
Carrie12345
Dh had a 2007 Prius that passed 300k before we took it off the road in... 2013, I think. I'm pretty sure.

My last one did start to have body rust around 80 or 90,000, though. (I rinse my current one much more often, but that isn't saying much!) TranquilMind
Our Sienna is 2003 and has 167K. It runs perfectly though and we are planning to try at get at least 250K from it. My mechanic friend says he has seen Siennas from 2001-2003 with around 300K on the original engines. My friend bought a new Civic when she graduated from college 14 years ago and it has 325K and still looks almost new on the outside. She said the year her business did super well for the first time she thought about replacing it but decided that with north of 300k she should see how long it could go. Wow, that really is cool that it still looks new too.
mschickie
My car is a 1998 Ford Escort. I have just over a 130,000 miles on it. Purchased it new way back when and it is still going. We have put in a bunch of work but luckily dh and his family are pretty good with cars.

Anne in CA
I bought my first new car last year. It was time to say good-bye to my 1988 Volvo 540 with @650,000 (!) miles on it. I bought it used at the 155,000 mile mark long ago. My children were raised in that car. I loved it. It went to the old car buy back program. I am now working on keeping my new car for the next 28 years. I had an 82 Volvo and drove it everywhere. Later I gave it to a single mom who probably still has it, lol. They really last.
Dmmetler
DH has a 1990 grand am with 161,000 miles. Runs great, looks awful.
mschickie
That's pretty low mileage for that age! We got married in July 2001 and I stopped working that Dec. At that point the car was only used for running around town. The car only has a couple of rust spots too. The plan is to get me a new one (probably new to me one) in a couple of years when our home equity loan is paid off. The Escort is a standard and I am getting old and want an automatic.
shawthorne44
A little over a year ago I bought a '97 Cadillac with 80K miles on it. The driver for most of its life was an old lady who drove it to play bridge and Church. She broke her hip and after many months admitted she'd never drive again, and I bought it from her daughter. I live some miles from work and it is our family car so now it is up to 95K. I love that car, if I could wrap my arms around it I would hug it. Shellydon
The low mileage some of you have is amazing. I easily put 200 miles a week on my vehicle
mellifera33
My car is a 1998 Ford Escort. I have just over a 130,000 miles on it. Purchased it new way back when and it is still going. We have put in a bunch of work but luckily dh and his family are pretty good with cars. My dh still drives my 1998 Escort as his commuter car. It has over 200,000 miles--not sure of the exact number. It has needed surprisingly little work. About 11 years ago I took it in for a tuneup and after the mechanic test drove it, he told me that it needed a new transmission. I decided to wait until it went out completely. Well, 11 years and 60,000+ miles later, it's still going strong. Lol.
Greta
Well, mine my not be the oldest (1996) or have either the least or the most miles on it (126,000) but I have no doubt it would win the award for prettiest. It's a purple 2-door Rav, and the paint on the hood and the roof has been burned off by the intense New Mexico sun. It's gorgeous, I tell you!
BlsdMama
Ford F-250 farm truck 366555. Still running dependably. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And a Ford. That bodes well for my van. She's a 2008 E 350 and I want her to live forever until she is replaced with a cute, little minivan. Do NOT tell her. DH has a Chevy Silverado, only a 2004, but with over 300K miles on it. It mostly runs... granted, the heater only works sometimes, and if you try to turn it up or down, the headlights turn off, but other than the "quirks" I think it works well. It's our hauler so it isn't mandatory to use on cold days, lol. We've hit 200k on the Honda and DH thinks she is near death, but I'm certain she has another 200k in her. It always cracks me up when my mom talks about trading in vehicles because they are over 100k. That's like wearing shoes for six weeks and finally getting them so they don't pinch. :P
