long lines at places like clothing stores this close to Christmas? I was standing in line and the couple behind me were talking about the line. It really wasn't even that long and all the registers were open, but she was complaining she had to wait. He was trying to calm her down by saying the line was moving and all the registers were open and they would be through in no time. She sounded surprised that there was a line. I expected it before I even left my house! It was worth the wait though. With a coupon and my rewards, I got a free nightgown for myself.

It would not surprise me.  I would mentally factor that into my decision to shop there at this point in time.

Anyone who thinks there aren't going to be long lines at popular stores this Christmas

is delusional. It's less than a week, chica, is what I would be thinking. Just smile, nod your head,

and think to yourself, "Please pass the bean dip."  :D

I got surprised last week.  

 

We have a tiny Walmart at the edge of my neighborhood.  It's only 12 months old, and it's never busy.  Our neighborhood tends to run snobbish liberals, and i've had more than one neighbor duck their head in shame at being caught shopping at the evil empire.  :D  The bonus for me is that it's truly a convenience store...easy to get in, get out, no wait...ever.  Last Christmas, I did a lot of shopping there because of it, but the store was only a month old.

 

I went last Friday at lunchtime, and it was CRAZEE.  So many lines, so many people.  I was honestly shocked.

Yes, but lines aren't what they used to be with all of the online shopping these days.  :)

 

People are so stressed out.  I bout ate my kids' heads off for breathing this morning.  Nothing really surprises me at Christmas time.

Depends on how expensive the store is.  The more expensive, the more annoyed I am at long lines.  I mean to a point.  I am not generally that impatient.  But if you are charging me top dollar and you don't have enough people working there I'm not going to be happy.

 

I went to Target yesterday to buy a notebook.  They were pretty mobbed, but they had a lot of people working there so it wasn't bad at all.

Lines are normal this time of year for anything possibly holiday related.   I need to mail something today, and I planned my day around getting there mid-afternoon with a book in hand,.

Now what really peeves me is a certain store that just sets up the new hires to get screamed at.  They just put the new hires on the register without much training at all.  Poor girl today had no idea how to do a coupon or really much at all.  Neither did the other two near her.

I have never been to Kohl's when there was not a line. They generally have some of the worst lines I've ever waited in all year long. The week before Christmas I wouldn't be caught dead near a Kohl's unless I was picking up an online order, which is the only way I shop Kohl's anymore because the lines are always long whether they have tons of opened registers or not.

I was briefly surprised by the long lines yesterday, until I remembered the date. But I kind of walk around with my head in the clouds.  :blush:

She was crazy - it's the week of Christmas at a retail store! Nobody likes lines but come on lady!

We went today and I didn't really expect to see lines.  It's a Monday afternoon.  We went to Kohl's and there was no line.  The only place that had a line was TJ Maxx.  Otherwise, every place we went had no line.  My kids and I shopped all afternoon today.  But, we live in a town with 50,000 people.

Shoot, I even expect the parking lots to be a mess so I am hyper careful when backing out. Apparently not careful enough, I was hit while backing out on Saturday. :(

Yes, I expect just about everywhere to be busy this time of year. Especially this week since the schools are out.

I only mind lines if the store seems understaffed ... then I'm annoyed at the store

I went to Kohl's early this afternoon and was shocked by the line - it wrapped around the inside store aisles to the very back and was worse than the line I stood in (for 2 hours) on Black Friday!  I was expecting a line but not one that bad!

Anxiety Attack perhaps? Sometimes I feel like I'm going to pass out when the lines are long and my social anxiety is bad.

Yes, I expect long lines this time of year and try to avoid them. I might grumble about them, too. Freedom of speech is a big thing in the US, right? ;)

Yes, I expect long lines this time of year. But, I've been pleasantly surprised by the lack of lines while shopping this year. I must be going at the right times.
