Did your dd get any info about the Spring Hill scholarship competition? And congratulations! Those are great acceptances and scholarships! During the summer, I told him that his application had to be in before basketball practice started. That started on October 5th and he made it. Then I didn't get his transcript in until this past Tuesday so we were really just checking to see if they had received the transcript when the message popped up that he has been accepted. DD, an alumni, was mentioning to a friend from college who works at U of MI that her brother had applied there. The friend went and sneaked a peak at his file and found he was accepted. The letter is not in hand. We expect it to go out when the others do around the first of December. No one else around here knows. I posted due to the relative anonymity here, but don't want to say anything locally and end up with friend in trouble. But Sue, you're not the first one who assumes I'm going as a teacher. It's conditional upon the school receiving his SAT scores (frustrating glitch we are working through - LOVED talking with the College Board rep. - NOT), but it's for the BSc program in Mathematics!! I think we'll find out about scholarships after the SAT score thing is settled. After talking to the head of the department, and then being "tossed around", the university just doesn't know what to do with me. I'm too strong to start from the beginning (they said that after evaluating me), but they won't set aside the prerequisites for the more advanced classes. So my file was passed on to the graduate department, but I missed those deadlines for January. And they won't set aside that rule either. Plus I don't want a Masters, I just want some refresher courses. So let this list here be for our kids and let's celebrate their accomplishments!!! FaithManor Posted November 22, 2015 Author Share Posted November 22, 2015 Cleo, you were accepted and with the crazy that is the college admissions process these days, it is an accomplishment even if you are declining the offer because the situation is not right for you so I still want to clap for a well trained teacher making the leap, be it refresher courses, online work, grad school, training for a different career.
