My 16dd has a 3+cm fibroadenoma that she is having removed today from her breast.

She is getting a bit nervous though.  The biggest issue is no eating or drinking until after the 11:30 surgery.

We are praying it all goes well and that recovery time is minimal.  She loves horseback riding and will be anxious to get back to that.  The doctor said likely 2 days or so before she can ride at a walk but then another one said a week or more.

I hope things go well.  I had a fibroadenoma removed a few years ago.  I think I was around 44 at the time.  Mine was quite large, about 7 cm, but the surgery/recovery was no big deal at all.  Really a total non-event.  I hope your daughter does as well.

Hugs and prayers. I had one removed when I was 22 and in college hundreds of miles from my parents. Dh, not my hubby at the time, just my fiance, was with me, living in the same town.

Healing was fine and fast. I was able to weightlift within a couple weeks, and my 2 in scar faded to a soft silver over time.

Things went very well.  The hardest part was that surgery was delayed an hour and she was getting really hungry.  The doctor was very pleased with the surgery.

Directions are limited activities for the next 2 days and then as tolerated.  She is already begging to go out to the barn with the horses but the meds they used to sedate her makes her a bit "tippy" at times.

She was up and out in the barn at 6:30 this morning feeding the horses.  I gave her the pain meds through the night as directed so she has been very comfortable.

She is back sleeping again but I am getting she will be on the horse by this weekend (doctor OKed it if she is comfortable).
