finishing 2nd here. DD7 did:

R&S spelling 2 and dictation from mom

R&S English 2

R&S phonics : finished 1 and did first 4 units of 2

SOTW 4 as a tag along, and did a great job with it. DH was really impressed w/her knowledge of WWII the other day. She is memorizing the presidents in order

Drawing with Children chps 3-4, art class at co-op, art class at an after school program, various projects at home and scouts

music: She has worked through half of R&S 2nd grade music workbook, improved a little at piano, performed in a Christmas pageant, and learned many songs at home.

Reading: she read aloud to me daily and listened to lots of good literature read aloud to her.

scouts, dance, co-op extra enrichment classes

Just posted this on a different thread:

Probably TT3

Probably RSO Earth and Science

Middle Ages - combo of Usborne, SOTW2 CDs and activities, Little History of the World

Well, my plans were:

Alternate units of FIAR and Prairie Primer

Pentime

LLATL Red then PLL when LLATL is finished

Rod and Staff Math 2

But I may be changing my siggie line! We started Diana Waring's Ancient Civilizations and the Bible a good while back and the 1st 3 units went great. But then I hit a brick wall cuz I didn't have resources for the remaining units on my dd's level. Weeeelllllll, I just figured out something ...I don't NEED all the extras! I have the Bible, Victor Journey thru the Bible, and the Singing Bible that all go very well with the elementary guide! I don't have to have extra reading. My dd LOVES ACB! Today she had so much fun doing part of the crossword puzzle and drawing a pic of the land of milk and honey in the activity guide. Both went well with our Bible reading. When it comes down to it, what matters most is her knowledge of God's Word and her relationship with Him. Everything else is secondary. So, while we are not hanging up PP or FIAR, we will most likely put ACB up front!

I won't make the final decision until July, and I'll give math and reading placement tests to be sure. My current plans, which are very different that my plans a few days ago, are:

SL B+C with 2nd grade readers

SL B science

SM 2 math

ETC 6,7,8

McRuffy cursive, 2nd grade

CLP Nature Reader 2

IEW Poetry

I really love WWE and hate to give it up, but I'm too busy to even think of overloading a subject. The same is true for LoF with the math.

extra: once a week ps enrichment school, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Judo. Plus a few art classes at the local art school.

I really like what we use, but there are days I dream of this kind of streamlining! :001_smile:

Trust me, I love making things easier on myself. :D PR covers all the lang arts and that is so nice, and MFW helps to cover the rest besides the math.

With all my kids, I have a lot to teach, streamlining makes it much easier. :)
