butterflymommy
Every time I've weaned I've been desperate for it to happen. Either from biting or it just going on too long (for me). But when they are teeny weeny, not biting, and so cute, I want it to last forever! :grouphug:

Mommyfaithe
Awww......it is sad...but, also a new time. I was pg or nursing for 21 years! It is now a new phase...no babies, no grandkids yet....time to rest up and remember who I was before. That, and enjoy my blessings:D Faithe

eloquacious
My 21 month-old and I will be there soon, though neither one of us wants to. Circumstances require it, alas.... and yes, I'm terribly sad to think of it. I remember that feeling with #1 - but then I also recall how amazingly independent he became, and that is a bittersweet joy.
happypamama
:grouphug: It is still hopefully a long way off for me, but I know it is going to be a hard day when it does come.

mommyto4
I did that last summer after nursing four children for a total of almost six years. It is so sad.... :grouphug:
8circles
OP here. I just had to share. Obviously, I've been feeling blue about this. Last night as I was getting DS in his PJs DH asked if DS had been asking for milk (signing). Just then (go figure :tongue_smilie:) DS signed milk & I responded that it was 'all gone' like the night prior, expecting a little fuss (older boys would claw at my shirt & really be upset). He threw his head back & did a totally fake 'waaaaahhhh' and then looked at me & laughed. It was so sweet. :001_wub:

By Grace
Our kids are almost the exact same age as yours...baby DS turns 1 in less than 2 weeks! We've been slowly backing off some, and I'll start weaning in earnest come March (I have a trip in April and need to be done by then). I'm looking forward to more freedom, but also really sad to leave this phase behind! I've been pg or nursing for 7 1/2 of the past 10 years... Carol in Cal.
Psalm 131:2 "But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me." A lovely image...looking ahead.

Mama Anna
:grouphug: My last one weaned on her own at almost 10 months because of a head cold. I managed to pump for the 5 days or so it took her to get over it, but by then she wanted to nip rather than nurse. :001_huh: <sigh> It's hard to let it go . . . :grouphug: Mama Anna
