    After 9 years of homeschooling, I'm throwing in my hat (for now) and enrolling my 5 school-age kids into a really good charter school next year.  At this point I feel like they will get a better education there than what I am able to give them.  We'll see!  I'm sad and excited.

      I did the same this year (after 8 years of homeschool). Lot of mixed feelings. They're (mostly) doing well. Homeschooling prepared them better than I thought at the time.

      Hugs. You did amazing things for your kids and you are willing to change as they grow. Major respect for you in that--many, many people are too lazy or rigid to do either.

      I would say to go ahead and start taking 1-2 prereq courses and see how that goes. You can get through anything for one semester. If it goes well, great, keep going! If not, you'll have that credit and can come back to your plan in a few years if you want to try again.

      I tried doing an in-person masters and found that for my family it was too much--mom being gone for classes part time combined with needing to study at home left too little of me for my family. I finally chose an online degree and made it through. Good luck with your decision!

      I've never used it. There's never been anyone here whose opinion I wished to ignore completely, regardless of how I felt about it.

      I now have 5 people whose posts I ignore. I don't usually participate in discussions on the chat forum, these are just people that annoy me to no end with the things they post, not someone I don't get along with. This last one was a long time coming. So glad I finally got around to silencing her/him.

    I just sent my kids to bed after a long day of chores and school work and piano lessons. Since it is after 9pm (which is lights out) I told them they could not stay up and read tonight. Tears and protests started. "But I worked so hard today! I just want to read!!!" They did work hard. I gave in. My 6 year old is reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. My 8 year old is reading Robin Hood by Pyle (the old English version). I am so impressed with these kids!...
