pinkmint
Postcards. You know, state postcards. Where do I go to buy them??! I like the idea of sending them to loved ones in different parts of the country because it feels just a touch special and specific. But apparently literally no store sells them anymore. I'm exaggerating a little because I did find some in a tourist store in a mall once but since that store is not that close to me I checked Walmart, Walgreens, Dollar General, a truck stop and a book store in my town. At this point I'm getting a little fixated on just finding them since it's so ridiculously hard. And buying them online feels kinda wrong.
Hilltopmom
I get ours at drug stores or tourist shops.
obsidian
I usually see them in gas stations that are right off the highway.
lanalouwho
There's a locally owned boutique/coffee shop that sells them here. Maybe there's something like that in your area? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
theelfqueen
At our Walmart and Walgreens they have them near the registers at the front Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
zoobie
Gas stations. Publix (grocery) here used to have a rounder of them up near customer service. I haven't noticed lately.
Wheres Toto
I had to buy postcards for an exchange we did a couple years ago. In order to get something besides Atlantic City and NYC (I'm in NJ), I had to go to a local historical site. I needed to buy one a couple weeks ago to send out for a friend and I managed to find one non-AC/NYC postcard in the gift shop of a local hotel.
J-rap
Our "Country Kitchen" chain of restaurants have them. Don't know if you have that chain where you are...

pinkmint
We do have a Cracker Barrel not far. Maybe there? Thanks for the ideas, all.
Lanny
Possibly on eBay.com ? You can find almost anything there, but not everything there.

Jyhwkmama
Cracker Barrel was actually my suggestion. Yes, go there.
SparklyUnicorn
They are insanely hard to find. Even this past time when we went to Germany, we couldn't find them. Granted, we didn't go anywhere super touristy, but they used to be everywhere. Here I found them in a gift shop that is next to a theatre (not movie theatre). Guest
Huh, around here they are in the candle/kitsch/tourist section of Safeway, Fred Meyer, and any number of gas stations and coffee shops. Maybe it is regional?
SparklyUnicorn
If you have a way to take pictures I imagine you could take some pictures and have them printed on post cards. No clue how much that sort of thing costs though.
justasque
Also, museum gift shops, though they are getting harder to find.
Guest
Walmart usually has a section of local items near the checkout. Usually local postcards are there.

pinkmint
Thank you for the suggestions, all. It just seems like postcards used to be more common. I remember seeing them at places like Walmart, drug stores etc and now the postcard displays have disappeared. Postcards are neat but I guess that's one more thing that has been replaced by texting pictures etc.
Mom25girls
Newspaper stands sometimes sell them. Airports seem to have a great variety.

FaithManor
I think you could take photos you like and have them made very, very cheaply at Walmart.
Rachel
We did a postcard exchange and had a very difficult time finding them too. Our drug store use to carry them but doesn't anymore. Bookstores have been reliable, both locally owned and Barnes & Noble. Museum gift shops and zoos usually have them, that's what I let my kids buy as souvenirs as it's affordable and doesn't take up too much space. Occasionally I find them at truck stops. Airports have them as well and you can usually get to a gift shop prior to security if you aren't flying somewhere. You can buy 20 of the same one through Amazon. I also bought a lot of 50 from eBay of my home state, there are a few duplicates and quite a few of different angles. My kids send those to their cousins. You could print your own through Vista Print too. If you want a few random postcards, pm me your address and I'll mail some to you.
Rachel
There is an app called Postagram that will send a postcard to somebody with a picture you took via your phone. I think you can send the first couple for free if you want to try it out.
HollyB
I've seen them recently at university book stores and campus gift shops.
